The ghost ship - this strange looking sail boat stranded on the beach of a North Sea island a day ago and has made it to some prominence with appearance on front pages of local newspapers and TV. It is reported that a skipper was on board, but it has not been confirmed that his name is Jack Sparrow... Actually this is a daylight photo (with VE 24-90mm) but I found this ghost ship story so funny that I pulled the controls in LR heavily to turn it into a more spooky night time look...

Bulbuls always like to act rather put out if you point a camera toward them.  But ignore one and he'll get right in front of you!  These birds love to be admired . . .

Very interesting crop T, I like it. His head is nearly as big as mine on the 27 inch screen in front of me. Can you tell me the dimensions on the long side when you posted this one please? In pixels if you could. The lens is absolutely superb if I can say that again and your focus is spot on.

Cheers Ken - I didn’t crop this one, although obviously it is resized for the forum, the longest edge is what is recommended in the post specification (2480 on the longest side.) But this is straight out of the camera in terms of framing, wide open at minimum focus distance.

Incidentally, this young man was standing on the subway platform at Canal Street, after I asked for his consent for a photograph, I took him to an area on the platform that was lit from some overhead lights. There was almost total darkness behind him.

Excellent T.  I admire your invitations to potential subjects. It's a lens that must inspire and motivate you to get the images you know will be stunning.
