Hale Woodruff  (American, 1900-1980) ***  Landscape 1936.  ***  This painting stood out for me as the finest modern painting I saw in the gallery.

This is the view of the U.S. Capitol building from where I live. It is a non-postcard view of the building and is typical of what we see as residents of DC.

Lunch time on the mall with a bunch of food trucks. The Library of Congress dome is to the right of the Capitol dome. The National Gallery of Art is on the left side. The mall itself was rebuilt just recently with wider gravel areas and the grassy areas were excavated and replaced with new soil and drainage. The area is a magnet for demonstrations and so one never knows what they will run into in this area.

But the rules plainly state that portraits must be made only with a 75mm or a 90mm lens!   😆

Seriously - these are excellent images.  I especially like the one of the woman moving her arms - that blur from partial motion with sharp facial features is a thing with me...

Cheers everyone! Having a moment of peace with my Q2 and a pint of Guinness.

Thanks so much!

Each time I shoot with my work setup, I have the urge to go out with the Q2. Such an enabler, this camera..
