Goodby (of sorts)

Well, I sold my Q2 to my friend and joined the ranks of the Q3 shooters.  So, I will not be posting any more new images to this thread.  I will still check it out often as there are so many excellent photographers and photos to look at taken with the amazing Q2.  I just got the bug when I tried out the Q3 and saw that the new sensor would help with a lot of what I shoot, which has some low light high ISO situations and the Q3 does do this better, along with the autofocus as my eyes are getting to be a limiting factor.  I have a backlog of Q2 shots to work on so I will post some older stuff from time to time, but unfortunately, this photo is the last one I took with the Q2.  Not anything great, but I will have a sentimental attachment to it.  The Q2 was my first Leica since the R8. I think I will print out the first shot I took and this last shot and hang them side by side for a bit until I realize I have taken much better photos in the interim with the Q2.  So, keep shooting with that amazing camera so I can see what I left behind.

This quite literally a grab shot - saw this event in the sky out over the ocean. Grabbed the camera and caught the Victus Nox being launched from Vandenberg.

Q2 was the only camera at hand, turned it on, went outside, and grabbed a hand held, wide open f/1.7 at 0.5 second.

Ist das Moonlight? Wütend...

No, it's not moonlight, it was taken in the afternoon. But it could well be some, if you choose the editing as I did. With a little good will and imagination it goes through for me quite like that. It's always helpful if you understand a little fun... applies to all areas of life! :-))

Amazing what one do with editing especially on shots like that one. Very good.

Did not bring my Q2 Monochrom on the trek to Montblanc so just did a BW conversion from the Q2. The Monochrom should be able to bring out a bit more shadow details but still am happy with the conversion.

Full crop of the image above, the resolving capabilities of the 28mm summilux never fail to impress me.

Beautiful place, we stumbled across it quite by accident during a road trip in 2018, driving around Europe. Stunningly hot day. Alas I only had an iPhone to capture it but even so the pictures were stunning, especially as we saw a traditional wedding taking place there. Oh, and the albino peacocks.

I had an encounter or two :)
