Yes, interesting as it illustrates exactly what I wrote above about venues and concerts not being so low light as we often think. Strangely, I did not count the full number. Silly of me I know, but there you go. I was too busy worrying how on earth I would get a half decent photo without ISO 10.000.000. As for that last photo. What did you focus on? I love the moody atmospheric shot of a dark jazz venue, it renders it perfectly. Great composition too, I'm sure the bass player gave you lots and lots of hugs and kisses. 1

Yes it is true, I now realize that we are talking about 35 mm. But the judgment for me is the same. I wanted to say that the 1.4 iris is really usable with an excellent contrast. In my opinion there are certainly many differences between the  Summilux and Summicron and everyone is free to choose which of these differences is important, but it is certainly not the contrast that is missing in the "Summilux ". lct Posted November 3, 2019 Share #43 Â Posted November 3, 2019 My Summilux 35/1.4 v2 has a rather low contrast at full aperture, low resolution too but it gives the lens its signature together with its famous glow. 50mm lenses are another story.

Considering the price into your choice.  also, Which lens is better/ more suitable under low light conditions? Thanks! Welcome to the forum HarleyTusk, As you can see we dont miss an opportunity  to go on and on over the simplest of questions😀. Having owned both of the current 35s in question AND given the fact that you can afford either, GO FOR THE FLE! I guarantee you will not regret it. 1
otto.f Posted November 3, 2019 Share #45  Posted November 3, 2019 (edited) Yeah! If possible on the FLEemarket. Just joking, great lens, just a bit heavy, but so allround that you don’t need other lenses so soon, which means less weight too. a.noctilux Posted November 3, 2019 Share #46 Â Posted November 3, 2019 May I suggest that later on, one 35mm (or whatever xxmm ) is not enough. So if you buy one now, you may want the other one later (or not ! ). 1

If you are after a modern Leica 35mm and can afford the FLE, I wouldn't hesitate, you'll enjoy it.
Printmaker Posted November 5, 2019 Share #48 Â Posted November 5, 2019 Interesting discussion. My 35 Summicron type IV is now 33 years old and starting to show its age. I still love the little bugger but am thinking hard about getting a 35 FLE. Alas, I promised both myself and my wife there would be no more Leica lenses... but I hear a new 35 calling me. Gotta close this page. Don't tempt me Hugo.
