UltraDan Posted October 14, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 14, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I have a 50mm summicron on an m4 body for film and was looking to pickup a digital body and adapter to use the lens on, I’m looking at the Fuji xpro 1 as it’s available cheaply and the form factor looks similar to my M4. Has anybody used an xpro with Leica m lens’s and if so how did they find the experience ? I’m not overly concerned about image quality as to be honest all digital raw files are easy to manipulate/work with. Other than the xpro there is the Sony Alpha range. Any info on this topic would be great, I have read through the topics on here but wanted an up to date assessment of the idea. thanks !

lct Posted October 14, 2019 Share #2 Posted October 14, 2019 Different beasts. Sony alpha's are full frame but Fuji xpro1 is an APS-C camera so your Summicron would behave as a 50 x 1.5 = 70mm lens on it, as far as FoV is concerned at least.

lct Posted October 14, 2019 Share #4 Posted October 14, 2019 No xpro but X-E2 here. My Summicron 50/2 v4 and v5 work fine on it.

My 50/2 apo works fine too. V4 was my second 'cron after v3 i sold stupidly in my youth, always regretted it so i decided to follow my grandma's advice to never sell a Leica lens. In fact i used v4 for 20+ years and i still like its small size and focus tab, especially on compact bodies like the CL, but i realized it flares more than v5 and the latter is 6-bit coded. Then came the apo. Almost perfect but also bigger and heavier. Result... Welcome, dear visitor!
