Yes, as it is now, the Visoflex 020 that I use since I have M10, can hardly be "improved" ( what to be improved ? ).

The heat rise on the M10 body can lead to trouble if the "improved Viso" which may drive more juice.

Sometimes, when I use the Viso 020 for relative long time, the M10's heat feeling in my hand lead me wonder why so much heat and battery sink.

If the improved model can use less energy, I'd buy one ... but in this case, the resolution or flickering may be the same as the present model,

or in this present model, separately use GPS or EVF ( maybe this can be done via firmware update ) to drain less battery and cause less heat.

please give us an updated EVF so that I can extend the use of my M10 to all areas the fantastic OVF can not do.

So, whats wrong with the Visoflex 020 apart from a) size b) battery drainage c) causing high temperatures d) clunky design and e) low resolution ?  😚

I can't focus fast enough while getting reliably in focus results with the 020 anyway. I probably need more practice but I'm SO much faster and more accurate with the rangefinder.

The only time I break out the 020 is for certain landscape and building photography.

For those few times I use it, the 020 actually exceeds my requirements/expectations.

If I used the EVF even 50% of the time I probably wouldn't be using M cameras as my primary gear.

I agree with everything, except that the only thing I use my Visoflex for now, is for close-up photography of various stuff and things. And those times I actually could have used the back screen of my camera instead.

I know that You can do that, I know that the technology improved.

Thanks,

Have you tried the Visoflex 020 with your M10?   https://leicastoremiami.com/products/leica-visoflex-typ-020-black?variant=705211461

The op (who is located in Austria, not Miami,)  has started this thread with a title  Visoflex 020 upgrade.   Presumably he has this device but we know it’s the only available option and it sounds like he wants an improved/enhanced one.  I can’t imagine why.  Maybe he hasn’t tried the device.   The External 020 will provide an electronic view with any of his Focal length lenses fitted to his m10.   Alternatively, perhaps he’s asking for an internal evf which isn’t part of the m10.
if that’s the case, he needs to go through all the discussions on the subject.

It isn't?

Pico . Is that a fact or a question.  ????  are you querying whether the M10 has an internal EVF.  Of course It doesn’t.

It seem the OP just wants to add his voice to this ridiculous and never ending argument.  He wants a single integrated OVF and EVF on the M10.    Yet another model.  More money, more things to malfunction.

Good call, Lucerne. What is Live View if it is not EVF?

It’s debatable.   On the 10, invoking live view compromises the speed of handling and many avoid using it.  Me included.  The OP is not giving the impression that he wants to shoot with live view.    But yes. If it makes you happy, it’s an electronic view of the scene on the rear screen but very inconvenient when shooting in bright light.

A new  version of the 020 without GPS might help with saving battery power
