codocee Posted September 23, 2019 Share #2 Posted September 23, 2019 Great time to purchase either Q or Q2 on the used market. Q has dropped $200-$300 in the last 30 days.

marknorton Posted September 30, 2019 Share #9 Posted September 30, 2019 Sorry, but I just do not get the Q, or the Q2 for that matter. Hugely expensive for a camera with a fixed focal length lens (and let's not kid ourselves that the "additional focal lengths" are anything more than image cropping), the main benefit of the Q2 is to show how dramatically behind the curve the current SL body now is. These days, I use Nikon Z7s with a variety of lens adapters which allow me to use (with varying degrees of usability and IQ) my 40-odd M and R lenses. I do wonder whether Leica are spreading themselves too thinly. Too many systems, too many cameras, trying to fill every niche. The S is withering on the vine, the SL native lens choice is poor keeping in mind how long its been out now, the M is frozen in a time where innovation means making it more difficult to use. Where is it heading?

Where is it heading? I didn't get the Q either... until I used it. It's a great grab and go camera that requires no thinking about lens choices. It's ergonomics are fantastic including an aperture ring on the lens, super simplistic controls, and a great macro mode. Also has OIS. AF is great... and super snappy. 47 mp allows cropping like crazy... giving it more reach. I also have an interchangeable lens body... which is used for a different purpose. I had a Q... sold it for a CL (to get a small interchangeable system), missed the Q and bought a Q2. Crazy expensive... YUP. I love mine though...
rfunnell Posted September 30, 2019 Share #11 Posted September 30, 2019 I've had Q and now Q2 along with other cameras and I must say this it produces the goods for me.
