V23 Posted September 14, 2019 Share #1 Posted September 14, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) When I mount my new Panasonic S 4.0/70-200mm on SL in the Camera/Lens profiles it displays ‘Panasonic S 70-200 F4’, next line is ‘Optical Image Stabilization’, but both displays are grey out. Would members with the same setup let me know if your SL behaves same as my, thank you. Other then that I am very happy with this lens.
Advertisement Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 Hi V23, Take a look here Why is it so?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
erudolph Posted September 15, 2019 Share #2 Posted September 15, 2019 Without the camera in hand, I believe that the optical image stabilization item is grayed out in my menu also... I do have the CL in hand, with that lens on it, and it is similarly grayed out; because the OIS is turned on or off not by camera menu but by the switch on the lens. vanhulsenbeek Posted September 19, 2019 Share #3 Posted September 19, 2019 (edited) Right! Same here for the 24-105. The SL does not have the internal stabilisation of the Pana S1 etc. I suppose with a stabilised Leica L lens (24-90 e.g.) you would be able to switch on and off But on my lens I can switch, and it works! FlashGordonPhotography Posted September 19, 2019 Share #4 Posted September 19, 2019 With Leica lenses the IS is turned on/off via a menu. They have no switch. With the Panasonic they have a switch and the menu item is not needed. Gordon
