I typically have a 75 mounted to my M 262.  I do use a 1.25 magnifier, also.   That combo works quite well for me and lives in my camera bag next to the original Q.

For 75mm combo, i assume u use it for portrait?

I trying to decide for M body which lens to pair with M lens 75mm or 90mm.

I find I use the Q about twice as often as M.  I use the M/75 combo for more reach, e.g. pictures of grandkids when they are in the pool.  Portraits too, I suppose.

Hope it makes sense as this is the route I'm going too!

You have a Q and you getting M with which length ? Do you plan to bring both camera out same time ?

brand new m10R is 13k sgd and second hand m10 is 5K sgd. I was considering with a m10 and maybe 75mm. But I am wondering do I carry both camera same time.

getting the Q2, trying to decide which 50mm lens to get for the M10P, not sure if I'll carry both at the same time, probably not. The Q2 is more practical and will get used more but there's just something about the M

Yes Q2 is 28mm and so far i can digital crop to 35mm 50mm and 75mm. Yes i agree Q2 is a practical and all in one. For M, i like the feel in using manual range finder and yet i feel quite unsure. I am still deciding...

I own a Q-P, M10-P, and a Q2M - purchased in that order all within a span of about 3 months.  Each camera serves a different purpose and I often bring two and sometimes all three with me.

I take the Q-P if I am on the go and want something better than my iPhone to capture pictures.  The M10-P is for when I want to slow down and deliberately enjoy the process of making photography.  The Q2M I take when I want to test my creativity, especially in low light.

The Qs and the M pair well.  I chose a 50mm apo-summicron for the M10-P and the character of this lens complements the Q’s 28mm summilux.  In this sense, I strongly agree with the sentiment that in the Q system, you really are getting an amazing lens with a free camera attached to it;  any of the Q cameras are a bargain if you look at how much a 28mm summilux lens for an M camera costs these days.

I was reading about the M10 Monochrom and some users pair up the Q2 + M10 Monochrom. wondering do i take this route Q2 and M10 Monochrom or just M10 with 75mm M Lens.

For M10-P paired to 90mm, what sorts of shooting you use the 90mm with M10p?

Mostly portraits. It's an old 90mm f/2.0 non-APO version with a nice bit of character. I usually take a few shots with focus bracketing just to make sure, or use the EVF which is fine for that purpose.

I'll wait for the M11, this gives me a self imposed time out on purchases and time to save up some more cash!

Right now M10-R is retailing at 12-13k SGD, and M10 Pre-Loved Unit is 5.8k SGD. M10 brand new is 8.2k SGD.

I think new M11 when arrived in late 2021, it will be 13k SGD camera body only. But when M11 comes in then the older pricing will drop.

The M camera body is cheap vs the cost of M Lens.

After a long road with Leica system (between varying M bodies, Qs, and an SL2 + M lenses recently), I have arrived at my "final destination": Q2M + M10M +M10R and my two most used focal lengths for the Ms: 35FLE and 50Lux.

This is my use case: daily family documentary, some fine art applications and some client portrait sessions throughout the year. I photograph in B&W 95% of the time. I just picked up an M10r just to have one color for camera for when I need a color image (portraits) to finally streamline my kit between M and the Q. I have tried various medium format cameras (fuji...hasselblad...) and the SL2 for portrait work prior to that. Landed back on the M system and couldn't be happier.

Currently on the waitlist for the sought-after 35mm APO Summicron-M and once that is available to me I'm going to swap the 35FLE for that and be set for a long time. The 50 for me is the perfect balance for using a portrait lens on an M body, anything longer and it just becomes really really slow to focus for my liking, I also really love the character of the 50Lux.

Short answer: YES -- Q and M together are great. For days I feel like just enjoying the moment more/being near water or weather elements/want to be as light as possible, I will grab the Q2M, on days where I really want to "work" then I grab the M. Some would argue I have a bit of overlap with the M10m and the Q2m, but for me, they are just different enough in my way of working yet still similar enough that it compliments. This summer I've been grabbing the Q2m a lot more for my personal work. I've had so much fun with it.

If you are considering two camera bodies, for 28 and 50, and already have an M body holding the 50, rather than buy a Q2 right away, you might already have a DSLR with a 28mm lens (although it will be heavier than the Q2).  It would be interesting to travel or try some other photographic opportunity to see how often you really use 28 rather than 50.  I have bought a lot of equipment only to find that I rarely use it.

...I'm curious as to how people are making a Q2 and M setup complement each other. How does it make sense for you?

My Q2 is my go everywhere, do anything everyday carry camera.

My M-P 240 gives me the option to use different lenses for color work.

My M10 Monochrom opens the gates to black and white projects.

My M4-P lets me shoot Tri-X and develop it at home.

All the above makes perfect sense to me.  These four different cameras give me a lot of different options in terms of what and how I make images.  I would trade my M-P 240 Safari kit in on a black paint M10R if I could avoid being robbed in the process, but that is apparently not possible.

The q2 only makes sense if your favourite lens is 28mm and your a fan of EVF photography.

I love the beautiful clear finder on an m rangefinder and although i have a 28mm lens for my m262 i only use it for about 10% of my pictures.

So for me it makes no sense at all.

The Q2 forces you to take pictures with the 28 mm Lens. So you can lern something new. A new was of seeing life. And with the Macro function the camera gets a very interesting bear and wide look.
so there a 2 lenses in one camera.
for myself I can say, that I always try new things with the equipment. And not having that much choice is sometimes a creativity booster. Maybe not for all people.

Funny thing but since my post i have become much more of a 28mm user especially for people pics and that focal length now accounts for about 50% of my images.

Glad your enjoying your Q2 and its a very interesting camera without a doubt although i am very happy with my m262 and small selection of lenses.

The macro feature was a stroke of genius by leica without a doubt.
