I have already bought a v5 chrome summicron 35. It comes with a square plastic hood, but there are oem black metal round hoods on the market. So my question is, is it possible to find a leica metal chrome hood for my chrome 35 summicron? has anyone seen one? There are some metal silver round hoods for summilux 35 but never seen a chrome one for chrome 35 .. thank you..

Yes, the 12504 hood was made in silver and titanium, they are rare.  I use a black 12504 with my black 35 summicron v5 and much prefer it to the standard square plastic hood.

Ohh I see; I am about to buy an unused black version. But there are two versions I think. The photo you load  is thinner. You can see mine is thicker .. if I could find I would prefer the chrome thin version. What do you think how will it look on my chrome summicron?

I have both the «thin» and «fat» versions in black for my silver 35 cron v4. And while being a chrome fan, those two black hoods still look great 😁

PS: I find even the black ones to be somewhat hard to come by... at least «locally». So I would definitely grab the beautiful silver 12504 if it passed by, but I would not wait for it... 😉

So today gonna get the unused black fat one for 200 usd .. do you think the price is ok?

You are looking at the 12585H.  I think USD $200 is steep, unless you are buying like new and a collector. Yes, the prices have gone up over the last year, but I would say $150 is more reasonable for an excellent used example  I paid less for my two in good to excellent condition.

OK if you really want it. I wouldn't pay that amount in a month of Sundays.

So last question.. do you think that it really looks too bulky with this hood.. It loses its compact look .. you agree with? Square one is really small and tiny but plastic ...

Put it on the camera and decide. I use one on a 35 Summaron and I love it. The vents make it disappear when viewed from the viewfinder.

I would happily use it on a Summicron. Then again, I am averse to plastic, but it does work well for its intended purpose.

Depends if you prefer aesthetics or efficiency. In the latter case i would keep the original 12526 rectangular clip-on plastic hood (pic). It is compact and offers the better compromise for protection against light, rain and bumps IMHO. I like much the metal vented hoods 12585 (or similar 12585H) as well but i tend to prefer its plastic version (12538) which makes a better bumper let alone that dents are less visible on it. All those hoods are not very nice though on a silver lens. The silver 12504 above is the winner as far as aesthetics are concerned but it is very difficult to find. I have no experience with it but i own the black version which is superb indeed but offers little protection. I own also a China made black copy of the 12504 which is much cheaper and looks very well made indeed to the point that one might take the copy for the original. There is a silver version of that copy (pic). I have no experience with it but you can find it on e**y (https://tinyurl.com/yyvqvkbd).

I use the 18525H on my Summicron 35/2.0 asph. It is not too bulky and  looks nice. It is in good used (by my own use) condition (minor silvering on the edges) and I am happy with that. Especially when considering I bought it near-new six years ago, @ 65  Euro...

Can you send an actual photo of the hood attached to the lens?

With the current exchange rate, this might be of interest https://www.reddotcameras.co.uk/hoods/15346-leitz-35-50mm-hood-12585.html

Not sure what, if any, 'H' suffix means apart from listing three 35's instead of two. Mine is straight 12585 as this one and fits fine.

The 12585H hood was supposed to be used on 35/2 lenses as well but there are non-H ones with 35/2 engravings too so it is just a guess from my part. Never seen the least difference between them otherwise.

If you can send some photos of the hood attached to the lens from different angles, I’ll be too happy. That will help me decide.. thank you
