Advertisement Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Hi bejersey, Take a look here X1 is missing the Battery Latch.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted August 19, 2019 Share #2 Posted August 19, 2019 No damage at all, just inconvenience. My X2 was without for two years, I only had it replaced when I had send the camera in for sensor dust.
Guest Posted August 19, 2019 Share #3 Posted August 19, 2019 Shelve dust? Leica should address this known design flaw of a wonderful camera series, by sending a replacement latch free of cost. They used to in Europe, and imo this is great marketing for keeping new entries into the Leica world happy, for lowest expenses. I see no need for an off-hand answer, reminds me of dust from the days of old.

Rick There are plenty of those pieces on eBay, Leica sent me one for free a couple of years ago though. No need to send it to Leica for that, it will take you 2 minutes to install it, and yes, at least with the X1, the battery puts some undesirable pressure on the door, I don't know if can be damage it. danmdan Posted March 8, 2020 Share #5 Posted March 8, 2020 If one can get a spare latch is this something that is self installable?
Tom Johnston Posted March 20, 2020 Share #6 Posted March 20, 2020 Is this a regarding the hinged door or the plastic tab that holds the battery in place? Just yesterday the tip of the tab that holds the battery in place chipped off.
kalifornier Posted March 20, 2020 Share #7 Posted March 20, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I believe OP meant the plastic tab. A known problem with X series battery compartment. After two such incidents, I got rid of my X2, as lovely as it was. The T series battery compartment design is fantastic.

jcraf Posted March 20, 2020 Share #9 Posted March 20, 2020 (edited) The battery tabs for X cameras are obtainable from Leica service centres, although they are a bit fiddly to fit. I spend part of my time in a Leica dealership and we fitted one to a used X camera the other day. Edited March 20, 2020 by jcraf
