So what do you prefer ?
CL + S Pro 70-200 f/4 + 2x TC ?

or CL + Vario-Elmar-R 80-200 f/4 + APO-Extender 2x ? Does this rig usable handhold ? Or do we need a monopod for stable focusing ?

I use the latter, and it is handholdable, especially in decent sunlight (I shoot at 1/1000 and no higher than ISO 1600; I try to shoot at f/8 to give a bit of depth to the bird). But the best support for that is the incomparable Leica table tripod that acts as a chest tripod. Easy to find on ebay.

Thank you for the answer Ken.
I quite like the idea of the 80-200 f/4

But I am a bit quite concern about the shaky view between 200 and 600mm equivalent focal lengths.

I not the idea of Leica table tripod.
Doesn’t it look a bit weird ? 🤔 But certainly more manageable than a monopod. Why not.

Weird? everyone out birding looks weird. No matter what you wear or carry, you won't look more or less weird than every other birder. 😀 As to equipment, few birders are ever satisfied for long. It's sort of like golf: a good walk spoiled. So many missed shots, but we keep at it.

A budget price option worth considering is a Novoflex 'follow focus' mount with a Noflexar 'T' 400/5.6 … with a Novoflex R adapter plus R to SL adapter … which compatible with R 1.4 x and 2x APO extenders … and is capable of excellent imaging. Furthermore, the Novoflex follow focus mount has a built-in bellows which enables close focus.

Try a forum SEARCH using 'Noflexar' to see the apparatus.

Only the older type Noflexar doublet has the bellows. The Noflexar-T ( triplet-the better lens) has a sliding mount only.

I have two Noflexar T '3 element' lenses with bellows … Noflexar mounts are modular and can be configured with or without Novoflex bellows.
