What program do you use to reduce noise?

As we all know, M8 at high ISO produces images with a high percentage of noise.

I have always used the Noiseware application with all my cameras, which I installed in Photoshop as a filter.

What noise reduction system do you use?
What is your opinion of Noiseware?

I used to use Dfine2 from Google Nik Collection that can still be had for free in spite of DxO selling an updated version of same.

Now my current raw converter (Silkypix 8SE) does a good job on noisy files so i leave it at that generally.

I use Noise Reduction in Adobe Camera Raw for reducing noise at the input stage and Dfine2 for reducing noise at the output stage if necessary.

I don't know the Noiseware application.

I use DeNoise from Topaz Labs as a separate stand alone solution, it works very well.

What I like most about Noiseware is that it can reduce the selected areas of noise.

The opinions I have read are that this Filter, together with the Topaz (Labs), are among the best that exist.

I've never used Topaz either but selective noise reduction can be done in Photoshop with Dfine2 on a smart layer with masking, and a Surface Blur filter on the LAB colour channels to reduce Chroma noise, which is how I typically apply NR.  If Noiseware makes it easy and does what you want it to then it sounds like a good choice.

I am quite happy with Topaz DeNoise. However, cleaning up at DNG conversion by ACR before you start processing gives far more control. Actually, it is a three-step process: First get an optimally denoised and pre-sharpened file in ACR, then, in Photoshop use selective sharpening and blurring and then sharpen globally, and then you can use the Topaz plugin for the final touch.
