M10 + Noctilux-M 1:1/50 + Varion Helioplan Filter

It looks a bit like a miniature city with that shallow DOF. 😄

Yes, that's exactly what I thought. PP is just a minimum of resizing and a bit of local contrast. I'm wondering what the reason might be to look like a miniature city. Maybe it is  the (sometimes magic) lens, the light and the shallow dof.

Usually you have such a small depth of field only when everything is very close (think of macro photography). I think this is what creates the illusion that the city is small.

I believe it is where the point of focus is that causes that effect.  If the point of focus had been on the people I think it would have had a 3-D effect instead.

Congratulation too, Musotographer.  Let us know how it goes.

Today, I went to one of my favorite spots and shot quite a few photos. Last time I had my CV 35/1.2 with me, today the Noctilux - the following is just one shot of about 500 photos. Not perfect but it's fun to get used to the lens.

Thank you for the kind words. Actually I had just taken the photo when the girl beamed that great smile. So I asked her to smile again so I could capture it.

Well deserved.  Too often shots taken with the Noctilux overdo the shallow DoF.  The image become a cliche.  It is very hard to get an attractive image with the Noctilux.

There is a spot, on my daily walk around the local lake, where, between 7-8PM, the light is like honey.
