Hi Dabbler,

Your ‘turd’ quote implies a subject matter or persons ability is fixed,  mine considers a subject is dynamic and a person continually evolves.

I'm not sure how you draw that implication from my comment but the opposite is true Pete. A person's development can be fostered by being frank. I learned many lessons that way. But then again, some people's skin is thinner than others. As you said, time to move on. Be safe and well,

John

One thing I’ve learned from the use of my 0.95 Noctilux is that it gives the most pleasing results in soft light, without too much harsh contrast.  Daniel and Pattyfrank’s images immediately above demonstrate this well.

While stopped down, the Noctilux is as good as the 50 Summilux ASPH, care is needed when used wide open to compose well and consider the background - it isn’t the subject!

Gives the best 3D pop in 35mm land - and it looks really cool on  a SL/SL2  body ...

I believe soft light may be the answer to everything.

Im wondering how you guys feel about edited shots like this in this forum. I had a hell of a time today producing anything that I liked, and rely on post production to make images like this pop. This with the SL2 and Noct .95 wide open. The foreground is what I really love about this and how the lens renders the texture of the gravel and daffodils. I think an ND filter would have helped with the blown out areas on the car but I don't have one yet.

While it is true that I tend toward the hyperbolic, (and with that in mind),  I have never enjoyed a lens/body combo as much as this Noctilux 0.95 and M10: the rendering, the color, and the 3D pop. Oh man!

I am not a 50 man really. But how this Nocti really can pop or give that 3D as shown in a lot photos in here is impressive and makes the Nocti very tempting anyway. Just for the effect in itself.

However... and risking to be out of line 😉... I find the bokeh in this photo to be very swirly (circular or rounded in the corners) in a way that takes away too much attention from the main object in itself?

Yeah, I know guys... bokeh is entirely subjective... ☺️
