One never gets criticism on Flickr or Instagram. I know I am susceptible to falling in love with one aspect of a photo and thinking it is better than it really is because of that narrow focus. So, here’s to honest critiques, realty testing, and growth as photographers. Daniel - did you get my post critiquing your image with the boat. I can't find it on this thread? When I shoot wide open with the Noctilux 75 1.25 it shows as 2.0 in LR There are a number of post on this thread starting around #600 or so regarding incorrect aperture readings that may be helpful. I get incorrect aperture reading on my Noctilux 1.0 whenever I use an ND filter for example and other incidences are cited.

I found out that usually the EXIF adds vaguely the strength of the ND filter and goes nuts in very low light , YMMV.

Hi John, yes I did, and I responded. It was in the M10 - image thread. Thank you again. It encouraged me to go back into LR and re-examine this work. (As to one point, the halo around the hill, pushing the texture slide was the culprit). Daniel

I'd maybe crop this to a vertical image rather than horizontal… drop some of the image on the right.

Nice to see some newcomers bringing variety to the thread. Secondly, is this the technique you're referring to: On 3/20/2020 at 3:35 PM, Dabbler said: Have you ever thought about shooting in black and white for a while? Or at least convert your color images to B and W in LR. This would help you to concentrate on form, structure, light and shadow. This experience gained can then be brought over to your color work. Hope this helps. John Thought about employing this B&W technique. I have a lot to learn, and starting from the basics seems logical.
