Now we're talkin'! Beautiful portrait!

Thanks.  It was 100 degrees out and we were all melting.  The one and only day I tried the Noctilux on my CL.  Worked OK as a portrait setup if you don't mind the very front heavy weight imbalance.

Now that ya'll have kissed and made up, can we have some more images to "critique".  Ha ha.  Social distancing is so fun.  Okay.  I'll post a "boring" image and ya'll have at it. P.S. Known far and wide for a sometimes out of control sense of sarcasm.  For the studious of the group, this is a 1916 Excelsior board track racer and a my mini, porch buddies.  Cheers.

Ok - you asked for it! Not boring - nice subtle color palette - interesting shapes - but . . . based on your selective focus the main subject seems to be that little patch of red tank in front of the seat. Dog becomes a gray blob. "Kiss" me you fool! BTW - your website is impressive!

Yep - even on the M10 it's front-heavy. But really worth it to bring out your subject.

The nice thing about using the Noctilux on the CL, and the SL for that matter, is the EVF.  On my SL in particular I can get about a 100% hit rate vs. my M10 with maybe a 75% hit rate if my eyes are having a good day.  The weight of the SL + Noctilux, while much heavier than with the M10, is a little more balanced.  All part of the fun of trying to master the equipment vs. the equipment running the show.

Beautiful car. I had a 1980 white 911SC Targa that I bought used with 90K miles on it.  Kept it for 15 years and sold it with 300K miles for more than I paid for it.  More importantly I enjoyed every mile. Use yours in good health!  Daniel

Now this is what I'm talking about. Cool comments my friend.  I confess to somewhat baiting, because I'm naughty.  Other than that agreed, might have been more definitive in focus point. :0). Heading back to the 'tall weeds' now.  Regards.

That is some serious drive time. The air-cooled, lüftgekuhlt Carrera are the best! Thanks.

Thank you.  (It was also an 1956 film based on the 1953 play by Robert Anderson). The barista was very kind as she made my tea.

Aha! Before my time. Keith and Mick looked to the past for inspiration I expect.

Perfect shot and use of the Noctilux.  I am envious of your ownership of the first version of this lens.  Well done all around.

I am curious about something: when I shoot my Noctilux 0.95 wide open on the M10, LR  reports it as F1.0. Am I missing something?

Thanks, Daniel.

I think there is no exif point for 0.95. The closest is 1.0

And on an M digital the f stop is a guess by the camera as there is no data transmitted by the lens.

This is not directed at any particular image that's been posted in this thread but in general . . . A Boring Image + Beautiful Bokeh = Boring Image . . . or . . . "You can't polish a turd"

Hi

I guess I can find myself going for the really nice shots... or I can find myself taking some really boring photos just to explore some lens characteristics. And I guess there are room for both kinds in here with the basis of what they are ment to represent or express (without extented need to express which...). Just a general comment from my side... 😉

Just enjoy our common fascination of the M and stay healthy through these times!

Even farther off on my M10. .95 records as 4 and everything in-between. The AD says the camera can't read the actual f stop but estimates the f based on the amount of light. I think mine varies because I have a circular polarizer attached.

A quick question:

Does it show all the different reading when you upload the images or after processing?

That is interesting. When I shoot wide open with the  Noctilux 75 1.25 it shows as 2.0 in LR
