Advertisement Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Hi AndreasG, Take a look here VisoFlex issues with Leica M10. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
84bravo Posted September 5, 2019 Share #22 Posted September 5, 2019 I have an M10-P and and M10, both of which I bought used. The VisoFlex works fine on the M10, but it gives me a grey/white screen when I try to use it on the M10-P. I suspect it's an issue of dirty contacts, but I haven't addressed that yet. Peter Kilmister Posted September 5, 2019 Share #23 Posted September 5, 2019 Ooh, Matron, you don't want a dirty contract! (With apologies to Carry On films from the 1950s to 1970s.) 😂
genji Posted September 10, 2019 Share #24 Posted September 10, 2019 I purchased a Visoflex with my M10-P and found that the proximity sensor, which had initially functioned properly, ceased to work at all: when I the camera to my eye the EVF remained dark and the LCD screen illuminated. I returned the Visoflex and received an immediate replacement which has functioned properly since.
hutchinson14 Posted January 25, 2020 Author Share #25 Posted January 25, 2020 Since I posted this question I have tried another VisoFlex and still a gray blank screen (the VisoFlex works fine on the other camera). So the camera has been sent to Leica to see what they can do. Further updates as I get them. 24/01/20 the camera has now been received back at Leica and awaiting estimate (hope it’s not too expensive)
jaapv Posted January 26, 2020 Share #26 Posted January 26, 2020 Is it not under guarantee?
hutchinson14 Posted January 26, 2020 Author Share #27 Posted January 26, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I don’t think so, I bought it used from a camera shop in May 2018. So it could be over two years old. Just looked and the date on the box is 29/05/2017. Since I noticed the fault at the beginning of May 2019 it should have been still under warranty but at that time I had a house move and also the camera shop talking the time to check the VisoFlex out. I could mention it to Leica though and see what they say.
hutchinson14 Posted February 3, 2020 Author Share #28 Posted February 3, 2020 No my camera is not under guarantee. I have the estimate for it and it needs a part replacing, also it will get a check over and a sensor clean as well. So I am going ahead with it. So we will see what is like when I get it back. a.noctilux Posted February 3, 2020 Share #29 Posted February 3, 2020 I hope that Leica is fair enough not to charge your repair. In my experiences, sometimes Leica didn't charge for repair even after guarantee period.
hutchinson14 Posted February 5, 2020 Author Share #30 Posted February 5, 2020 Unfortunately on this occasion I have had to pay. It is ready now for shipping so we will see when I get it back.

I bought the Visoflex around 3 weeks ago. Everything works well, display, focussing, proximity switch, indication of the key parameters - except the GPS function. The satellite symbol appears within a few seconds, telling that the link got established, but with the small "x" - no data transfer. First I thought, maybe out of satellite range for a short while, but I never could get any GPS data, at various locations. I contacted the Leica service Wetzlar by email, but their reply was only to follow the instruction on p. 5 of the manual - keep the antenna upright and do not shield it. To be honest, I expected a qualified advice. A few day later I visited the shop where I had bought the Visoflex ( a well known dealer in Düsseldorf). They took plenty of time, but unfortunately no M10 or a Visoflex were available for a comparison. But the told that next day an expert from Leica would come and they would discuss this case. I left without any expectation. Surprisingly, two days later the shop sent me an email, informing me that the Leica guy had admitted that this GPS issue with the M10-D/Visoflex has been known already and would be solved with the new firmware version 2.7.5.0 to be released September 4, 2019. So, I wait now... Has this issue been fixed? For what I know, my M10-D also shows an 'x' on the satellite symbol in Visoflex. Both products were bought in 2020. AndreasG Posted July 20, 2020 Share #32 Posted July 20, 2020 (edited) I got a replacement Visoflex 020 from Leica a couple of weeks later, but the GPS function of the new one also fails completely, so I simply gave up. 01maciel Posted July 21, 2020 Share #33 Posted July 21, 2020 I figured out that the Visoflex has always a malfunction whenever I move the camera (e.g. pulling it from the hip to the eye) at the time when the M10 is being switched on.
Pixeleater Posted September 22, 2020 Share #34 Posted September 22, 2020 I encountered an issue today with the VF and M10R. I can see the Menu and Play screens thru the VF, but when I look thru the VF to take a photo the VF does not work. Any ideas as to why?

It should be LV Screen Target -> EVF or Auto.
Pixeleater Posted September 22, 2020 Share #36 Posted September 22, 2020 SrMi, I changed LV Screen Target setting from Auto to EVF and it worked after several back and forth of switching it. May have been a firmware glitch? Thanks for the quick reply, It helped.
Fontan Posted March 6, 2021 Share #37 Posted March 6, 2021 So, I am having a goofy issue with my Visoflex on my my M10 now. When indoor it works just fine but taken outside it shuts off. Very annoying, actually. Tried cleaning contacts but no luck. I would hate to send it in for stupid crap like this . . . . let alone potentially being charged for it and no top of the cost of shipping etc.

Did you use adaptor on your lens ? Long time ago, I had strange behavior with LTM to M adaptor + 020 + M10.

My visual acuity has declined markedly this past year, and the act of focusing through the viewfinder has become a bit inconsistent of late for me. So much so that I am actually thinking of jumping to Q2. It is just that the end of product is a bit soft at times in terms focusing.
rramesh Posted March 8, 2021 Share #40 Posted March 8, 2021 The Visoflex is great for it's accurate framing, something that manual ones from Leica/Voigtlander can't do well. I don't see it as a substitute for the rangefinder unless i need to compose in odd angles. Leica's construction quality and use of cheap plastics on a rather expensive accessory is a pity. And of course Leica is still behind the curve on software development.
