Or realistically just add video recording function into right dial inner button. I withhold my Q2 purchase until Leica add video recording into right dial button. By the way add it to the CL also. nicci78 Posted April 8, 2019 Share #26 Posted April 8, 2019 Thanks for the video @Marty2 it perfectly illustrates the mess to get into video mode. The YouTuber despites his willingness to « debunk » the problem, just show how bad Leica did it. He has no clue about how user friendly is a real video button. Just try in real life the CL & Q2 way to see how inconvenient it is. In the heat of the moment, you get photos instead of videos or vice versa. Leica took too many buttons off this time. Mr.Q Posted April 8, 2019 Share #27 Posted April 8, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's a minor issue for me, and it's rather personal, but I wish they'd bring back the more elegant AF confirmation sound of the Q1. Now it's just a cheap sounding beep.

Kaiden Posted April 11, 2019 Share #30 Posted April 11, 2019 Honestly I enjoy the video functions, Leica gives you great options in regards to FPS, however where they FORKED it up is the inability to control video Manually! What the FORK? Allow me to control the Shutter Speed myself, this rolling shutter has me all tangled up.. , either way due to the weather sealing there is not external audio or video ports so! Guess it's not going to be up to my needs anyway... so now that I think of it.. go ahead and remove it.. Lol Currently in a tight spot as I love the camera for photos and will keep it for this.. however hate having to hang on to my Pro level Canon's and lenses due to the lack of video functions. Perhaps the future SL will help in this category. New to Leica so I see my entire set up change if Panasonic can get there continuous autofocus up to par on the new releases... or the future SL is a step up from the current version. Guess I will just have to wait and see, and then wait longer because they won't be in stock for a really long time after they are announced... Lol.. Smogg Posted April 12, 2019 Author Share #32 Posted April 12, 2019 (edited) 4 different screens cycled through central button is too much. User should be able to turn off unused screens via menu. For me only 2 of them are useful: clean screen and histogram screen with both info-strings(battery level and other camera info). Right now I should click central button 3 times to switch between them. Also I want to switch off unused crop aspects (I’m interested in only 28 and 50) Edited April 12, 2019 by Smogg

T.J. Posted April 13, 2019 Share #34 Posted April 13, 2019 Could not agree more with the macfilos comments. Personally, I would have been happier had they retained the video button. This is my travel camera and I occasionally like to shoot video clips and the Q2’s video capabilities are fine for what I want. But that center button needs a massive firmware overhaul. 4peterse Posted April 15, 2019 Share #37 Posted April 15, 2019 (edited) - High ISO long exposure >4 sec - Interval shooting without the stupid "some frames were dropped" bullshit - Remote control (App) in full manual mode (instead of the "smart setting" that is used now) - Back button focus - Improved high ISO dynamic range - Viefinder gridlines aligned with crop mode Edited April 15, 2019 by 4peterse

prismstorm Posted April 24, 2019 Share #40 Posted April 24, 2019 Q2 Firmware Wishlist 1. Ability to select smaller-sized RAWs (like how D850 offers 47, 24, and 1x MP RAWs), so users don't have to unnecessarily end up with 47MP shots of everything, like close-up shot of the sushi they just had for dinner. 2. Ability to select and deselect the various information screens toggled by pressing the central button on the D-Pad, instead of being forced to cycle through the 5 displays now. 3. Ability to fill the LCD / EVF with the entire digitally-zoomed picture (35, 50, 75mm), instead of having white frame lines within an always-28mm field of view.
