erl Posted April 2, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 2, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone using Ver12 or upgraded from Ver 11? Do you find Ver. 12 a significant improvement over Ver. 11? Did you have trouble upgrading, specifically paying for 'Upgrade' as opposed to outright purchase?
Advertisement Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Hi erl, Take a look here Pase One C1 Ver 12. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Dan Bachmann Posted April 3, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 3, 2019 I've been evaluating C1 V12 and DxO PhotoLab 2 for the past few days. Both are excellent, but also different. I remember trying to use C1 V10 or V11 over a year ago and I felt it very awkward to use. I'm not sure if that was because of the severe head injury I had or not, but for V12, I picked most of it up in 10 minutes and DxO was even faster to get going with.
Luke_Miller Posted April 3, 2019 Share #3 Posted April 3, 2019 IMO the major change over ver 11 are the improved layer masking features which I use often. 1
digger1914 Posted April 4, 2019 Share #4 Posted April 4, 2019 I have gone to 12. The luminosity masking is very handy, and I also find the new layout much better to read, and also use for extended periods. I did the upgrade and had no problems parting with my cash! 1
erl Posted April 5, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted April 5, 2019 Still having trouble getting the portal to ópen' so I can pay. Will submit a service report, or give up. 😨
otto.f Posted April 5, 2019 Share #6 Posted April 5, 2019 (edited) I stopped with C1 at ver 11. I found the upgrade to 12 following very close in time to 11 and I don’t like such a policy. In the meantime Luminar 3 has come up which is very good application and has a broader utility range, it replaces Bridge as a good search library. All the extra’s that come with 12 are modules that approach the kitchy working style. I prefer my photo’s as natural as can be. I don’t do fashion either. Btw, the release of Luminar 3, together with my purchase of ImagePrint, made it possible for me to leave Adobe Edited April 5, 2019 by otto.f
fatihayoglu Posted April 5, 2019 Share #7 Posted April 5, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) On some systems (according to Forum users) there is a performance issue with V12, personally the performance I was getting from V11 was much better. It is possible OpenCL engine is broken on V12, reported by both Mac and Windows users.
erl Posted April 7, 2019 Author Share #8 Posted April 7, 2019 Thanks to all responders on this. For the time being I will stick C1 Ver. 11.3 as it is very good IMO. Normally, I like to stay upgraded with software, but the difficulties I have been having have discouraged me from persisting with attempts to pay! I hope Phase One take note.
pridbor Posted April 8, 2019 Share #9 Posted April 8, 2019 I used C1 V11 and upgraded to V12 and haven't seen any performance changes, only functional as previous posts have mentioned. I agree that the v12 came a bit quick after v11 🙂 As far as getting into it I found it very easy. When I needed something I didn't know how to do, they had a bunch of very instructive videos, like for the Masking functions which are really powerful. Now I never used LR and other such SW so it might be as good as C1 in this regard? Preben
plaidshirts Posted April 15, 2019 Share #10 Posted April 15, 2019 I went from v9 to v11, skipping v10. I think I'll do the same and wait for v13. All the news led me believe the upgrades would be for v11 via firmware updates, but then they released v12...
