I’ve never had any problems with B&H, especially a “premature” credit card billing. I have noticed that the additional battery I ordered 2 weeks after I ordered the camera shows “in stock, order sent to warehouse”, so we’ll see if maybe the camera isn’t in the queue (no pun intended) waiting for the end of Sabbath to be processed. But, yeah, they’re definitely getting a call from me tomorrow.

I agree. I have shopped at B&H not to avoid tax, but because they have always been a first rate operation. They still have the benefit of the doubt until I speak with them.

The problem with the premature VISA charge was with Apple Pay and not B&H. They were helpful in resolving it. I ultimately had to cancel my original order and re-order using my VISA and not Apple Pay.

I’ve become used to the piece of dirt in my EVF... the camera is very lovely. I contacted Adorama and they have been super kind to me, even offering to pay to have the unit serviced if need be. I hit up Leica and was first told to just mail it back to their headquarters in New Jersey. They provided a label and said my unit would be looked at and then fixed. Two days later I got an email from them saying that my unit would have to go back to Germany with a minimum of a 4 week turnaround. This was unacceptable so I contacted Adorama again who promised they would send me a brand new unit once they received new stock, at which point I would mail this defective one back. This would have to occur within their 30 day return window which I’m hoping happens, otherwise I’m out of a camera again until whenever that is. Kinda frustrating that this wasn’t flagged in QC but after all we are all human.

Because of your experience, I will thoroughly examine my Q2 when it arrives. If there are any problems, I’ll return it immediately to B&H and ask for a replacement.

I hear  Amazon has a lot of counterfeiting  going on...  anyone else hear that?

Yes, a continuing problem that Amazon seems unable or unwilling to address.  Have to be careful re: batteries, filters (rash of counterfeit B+W) and occasionally memory cards.  I stick with Adorama/B&H for those items now.

I believe that’s how it works with PayPal as well.  No problem for an item in stock, not so nice on a $5000 purchase with no expected delivery date...

They explicitly state that's how it works in the check-out flow in my experiences.  I thought they'd do the same for an Amex check-out, but apparently not.

I've had no problem (and don''t consider this to be a problem) with B&H either.  Returns when I've needed them have been super-fast an easy, and usually shipments arrive a day after shipping.  I've yet to see anything about sales tax; Massachusetts has a provision for paying a flat rate (unless that's going away, I wouldn't notice until next year).

Sorry, I was rushing out as I wrote the last post; by "this" I meant the delay in shipping out my Q2, completely separate thought line from the talk of payments.

Finally!

Someone who doesn't always shop  looking for the lowest Number in mind.  I love a bargain  as much as the next guy but not at the expense of my equipment.  I mean  who's to say that what we get from the Biggies  aren't fake either....  I   just feel better knowing that my equipment   is what it's supposed to  be.

I just got mine from B&H today.  Did you know that if you get an B&H credit card and if you live in states where tax is collected they credit the tax back?   At least that is what I read. I have used B&H for years and not had any problems.  I am careful about ordering camera equipment from Amazon.

Check out the ad on the B&H site.

When did you order? I placed mine with Adorama on 3/8 and still no word.

If I were you I would mail the defective Q back well within the 30 day return window so that you will retain your entitlement to the return, regardless of whether Adorama has a replacement at that time.

You have been sold a defective product. The 30 day window may be an arbitrary, rather than statutory, time limit. In any event, it is irrelevant if the goods arrived defective. Good luck!

Good point.  Who knows where other bits of "dirt" may be floating around in the camera body.

I highly recommend you call B&H and escalate to a supervisor.

I called to check-in but didn't escalate.  The agent confirmed what everything else was saying, the Q2 camera and the blue Ettas case were both back-ordered.  She couldn't confirm if they'd received any of the cases (besides red, which were in-stock) but the implication was that they hadn't.  She wouldn't give me any estimate on when to expect the Q2, but said they "appeared" to be getting one shipment a month.

I purchased mine from Fireside Cameras in San Francisco, my local shop, on 2 May. My retirement gift for me!!!  Also my new grandma camera as I am not the fastest focuser with my m10.
