Advertisement Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 Hi IkarusJohn, Take a look here Which bag for the Q2 [for Rick]. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
redrider469 Posted March 8, 2019 Share #2 Posted March 8, 2019 Same one as the original Q. Same dimensions.
Leica Guy Posted March 9, 2019 Share #3 Posted March 9, 2019 (edited) Okay, you started this. Bags are one of the most personal and controversial areas of photography. I neurose over them and my wife regularly laughs at my obsession. Having said that, a Q2 deserves a new bag. That's a given. It would be bad karma to put a new Q2 into an old bag. I have been on the hunt and I've found the perfect combination. For me. LOL! The Oberwerth (Freiburg? My bag is external dimensions approx. 11'X 8"x5") is a perfect fit for the Q with my Arte De Mano half case plus three filters and two extra batteries. This might be the Leica Oberwerth Limited Edition System case. Not sure, but it looks a lot like it. The Q2 will be happy in this new home when it arrives. There are slots for SD cards, some cleaning supplies and theoretically an 11" iPad although I won't be using it for that. I then found a backpack that the Overwerth bag perfectly fits into. A Samsonite Laser Pro Laptop Backpack. Very discrete and sleek looking. Good pockets for headphones or sunglasses, 13" laptop, water, stuff. That way when I'm traveling I can throw a jacket, Leica tripod, water bottle and snack in the backpack for all day or I can just take the Oberwerth for shorter jaunts. I could not find my exact bag on the Oberwerth site since I have a Leica version with the red interior. I saw it and I bought it immediately. They are scarce, but I believe if one was motivated, they're still in Leica stores. Check out the pics. I got mine at Camera West in Rancho Mirage California. I picked up the backpack at Best Buy, but I also see it on Amazon. Welcome, dear visitor! Flilow06 Posted March 9, 2019 Share #5 Posted March 9, 2019 (edited) Anyone know if the Q/Q2 fits in a Billingham Stowaway Compact? Per the interior dimensions it should not, ie. too thin, but there is a user review on the Billingham website saying it does. tnturnerx1 Posted March 24, 2019 Share #6 Posted March 24, 2019 Based on topic by JayK, I ordered the small Billingham 72 bag. My Q2 is still backordered, but I watched several videos on this bag, and it's certainly high quality and will fit Q2. Check out videos, as they are very good. Also, I already have a Think Tank Mirrorless Mover 10 (also mentioned in this forum). I searched internet to see if Q fits inside (assuming Q2 also would). Answer appears to be yes. The Think Tank bag has numerous useful pockets and is a small bag, just like the Billingham bag. The Billingham bag is higher quality (should be for the price) and is very well padded, extremely well made. The Think Tank is also high quality, but less expensive, and is padded (of course) but not as heavily as the Billingham. The Billingham bag is rain resistant, and has an interior protective cover. Think Tank bags (I have several) come with a neat rain hat that fits nicely over the bag, and it works. If you order a Billingham 72, note that it comes in 2 types of material: canvas, and also in some fancy word synthetic. I ordered the synthetic because it is more durable than the canvas, though I'm sure the canvas is very tough, also.

sbarrenos Posted March 24, 2019 Share #9 Posted March 24, 2019 Leica strap and Manfrotto Holster S. A bag to travel light and a strap not to scratch the camera. Perfect for me. I did the same with my Leica Q. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! My take is Overwerth makes multiple versions of this same size bag. Mine has a red interior and not red stitching on the strap. I’m very happy I purchased it. bags27 Posted March 24, 2019 Share #11 Posted March 24, 2019 Dan, I'm laughing with your wife! Actually, my brother-in-law warned me years ago that bags are our quick-sand. As a result, I try to order last year's model off of e-bay at about 1/6 the price. Of course, they take ~2 months to get from China.....

australex Posted March 25, 2019 Share #13 Posted March 25, 2019 Im actually looking for a small pouch for my Q2 as well. Tried a Billingham 72 in store but its a bit boxy for me. I'd like to try a Fogg Flute as its a couple of cm less deep but don't live near a retailer. Any other options in the small arena? Just want a black and unassuming pouch that's fairly weather resistant. While I don't buy into the "black = unassuming" for most people, since its the only color of clothing I own it actually is. Colors pop like nothing else
Belle123 Posted March 26, 2019 Share #14 Posted March 26, 2019 Let me tell ya a bag to avoid. Wotancraft. I have two and the leather strap is now cracked up falling apart on one used the most. Looks awful. Money wasted. I suspect, fake leather. Nice looking bags when new but not made for real use. I stick now with Billingham, the Hadley small. I don’t fuss over bags any more.

Achim63 Posted March 26, 2019 Share #16 Posted March 26, 2019 I use multiple Kalahari bags in different sizes (the dark grey ones), as I like the design and also functionality. Just for the Q2, the Kalahari k-6 should suffice. For a bit more room, the Molopo K-41i is nice, I use that mostly for a Fuji with two extra lenses. An advantage of the bigger Kalaharis: they don't scream "I'm a camera bag with expensive content".
Guest Posted March 27, 2019 Share #17 Posted March 27, 2019 Seems a shame to put it in a bag. Just put a nice Arte De Mano half case on it and throw it over your shoulder. Neil

John, You know the Arte De Mano Rally Red half case is the dogs bollocks mate......I had one on my Q and I am sure I will get one for the Q2. Did you get one down under?? IkarusJohn Posted March 27, 2019 Author Share #20 Posted March 27, 2019 Hi Neil, Actually, I don't. I bought a Luigi natural leather half case for my M9, used it for a month or so, and now it sits in a drawer somewhere. I prefer my cameras naked - the M cameras are so nice in the hand, and the TL2 and SL just look nice the way they are. I have had my Monochrom recovered in tan ostrich leather, and I like a good strap, but otherwise I prefer not to pimp my cameras with bits and pieces.
