Checked at my dealer on Saturday, and exact same situation. Ten lenses ordered, one received. So not only is the lens delayed by well over a year, when it is finally released it is unavailable. Anyone want to roll the dice on when the APO 21/24/28 will be released? And then actually available? Although they say 2020, I'm going with 2022.

I’m guessing we have the same dealer and you’re the guy in front of me 😂

No, I'm now using the 35 and 75 APO SCs.  Delighted with both.  Can't wait for 2022 to get my 24.

Basically they are sharp and contrasty across the whole image down to f/2.0, as promised, and focus incredibly close, by the standards of M lenses. AF is fast and reliable.  Separation between planes is very clear.  Bokeh on large scale is nice, but you will hear grumbling from the "nervous bokeh" scolds about what can happen with branches in the deep background.

I live in Sydney and was travelling extensively in Europe and Asia around end of May, in 2 weeks I visited 6 Leica store in London, Milan, Florence and Hong Kong. Every store said almost the same thing, "we just sold the SL35 2.0 yesterday". I was disappointed but happy that I did not have to carry another lens when I have 3 M lenses including the 50 Noct.

Strange enough, 2 sets of 75 Noct were available in London when I visited Mayfair and Selfridges. Very tempting to get but 75 is not my preferred length and it is very heavy to carry around, not to mention the $$$ when I only had budget for the SL35.

So when I returned to Sydney in June and walked into the local Leica store, there is one SL35 in the window, so I grabbed it and run.

35 is my favourite length and I do have a few M 35's including Lux FLE, Cron (8 elements) and R Lux; so the AF 35 2.0 will be great for my SL and AF experience.

I was extremely happy with the IQ of the 24-90 when I first bought the SL in 2016. Downside is the size and weight.

Last year I got the 16-35 and was floored by the IQ but again the size and weight is a struggle when I have to decide what to bring when I am travelling.

Lately I am using my M Summaron a lot because  it is a joy and relieve to carry such an ultra compact setup when i have to walk for miles.

But the SL35 is still my dream to have because I have very high hope and expectation of the IQ and it is much small than the other 2 zoom lenses I have.

After I got the lens, these are a few snapshots and the SL 35 did not disappoint me.

That sounds like the lens I pre-ordered at the beginning of March and then gave up waiting for in May.  So they f-i-n-a-l-l-y got one in June 😃

BTW after months of waiting I ended up buying an Elmarit-R 35mm ROM for 1/5th the price of the SL35.  Am amazed at the quality, the firm aperture clicks and smooth manual focus, and of course am also enjoying the saving.

Love the results of the 35SL APO above - have been waiting for one of those for months here.

Last one for now - all above images same combo Leica SL & 24-105 Lumix s 24-105 F4   (great value and a little more comfortable to carry around)   Loved the 24-90 Vario but was a bit heavy for me.

I like the combination of very clear color and tone rendition and bottomless detail.  I've been posting in the SL image thread, but here are two more:

Here are two examples of OOF rendering on the 35 APO-SL.  The first is focused close, the second on the middle distances.
