Used 55-135 Lens

Just an FYI.  The used one I jumped on Tuesday arrived this afternoon from Leica Store Miami.   Although it wasn't in a box it was in a microfiber Leica bag which was then stuffed into a padded Leica lens bag.  

The lens looks like it is brand new; not a mark nor even dust on the lens face.   Thanks again for the heads-up!

I wonder if the Leica 55-135 is being improved or modified and that is why it is out of stock everywhere? I have one on order with BH for 4-5 months. If they were producing it should NOT be a issue to make a few thousand lenses for the world. IMHO

I asked Leica USA this same question  and was told they never heard of any modification or problem about this lens. According to them, there is too much demand and the making is not fast enough!!!...

Lets be honest, in the world of camera leica is a very small pressence. The more expensive the model , the lower the volume. How many CLs do you think could have been sold in the last year? From that how many 55-135 lenses could have been wanted and needed? Other lenses are used far more often. I think there is more to the story than demand, as NO ONE is getting new lenses , all that are avaiable are used or store models. IMHO

I just picked one up on FM... LNIB. I was surpised actually, as I had read this thread. It sat there for a few days with no takers, till I pulled the plug. Are you guys on FM also?? I will have it tomorrow...

They are occasionally on Ebay as well.
