frame-it Posted January 24, 2019 Share #4 Posted January 24, 2019 doesn't look like this one http://collectiblend.com/Cameras/Leitz/R7-'Siber-Hegner'-urushi.html http://www.auction2000.se/auk/w.Object?inC=WLPA&inA=20140113_1124&inO=

Guest jackaria Posted January 26, 2019 Share #6 Posted January 26, 2019 the special edition I would have thought it is the initials of a person Hiber Hegner deffo
T.E. Posted January 29, 2019 Share #7 Posted January 29, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) No such badge on my R7. Looks like a "Vanity Badge" to me. Too much of self-made look to make it a creditable Leica Special Edition
wmcl Posted January 30, 2019 Share #8 Posted January 30, 2019 https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w286691998 Per Post #4, this is definitely not a Leica R7 Urushi 'Siber Hegner' (1995. Special edition for 130th anniversary of Japanese Leica dealer "Nihon Siber Hegner", only 200 cameras made). This chrome R7 looks standard, probably with a vanity badge as T.E. commented. Note the spelling: "sh (Sebel Hegner)". From the link that I found, and if it's the same camera illustration, SN 1919844 is a 1992 R7. Caveat emptor. pgk Posted January 30, 2019 Share #9 Posted January 30, 2019 Could it be the badge from either a retailer or importer - I've seen these on other Leicas?

jaapv Posted February 1, 2019 Share #11 Posted February 1, 2019 The badge may be rare, the camera is certainly not.
wizard Posted February 1, 2019 Share #12 Posted February 1, 2019 (edited) Special Heritage edition ... 😊. Joking apart, as PGK has indicated above, I suspect this is just a dealer's badge. There is a shop called "SH Photo" in Germany, but whether there is any connection between them and this camera is beyond my knowledge. earleygallery Posted February 1, 2019 Share #13 Posted February 1, 2019 People stick all sorts of badges on their cameras, it's clearly not a Leica special edition and I wouldn't be happy if a dealer stuck their badge on a camera I was buying. James, I agree. There was a similar trend with new cars some years ago, when dealers stuck a tacky (in more ways than one) dealer's badge on the brand new cars they sold. Though not then prosperous enough to buy a brand new car, I remember thinking that if I was, I'd make it a condition of sale that such tat wasn't stuck on mine. Same now with a brand new Leica.
analog-digital Posted February 1, 2019 Share #15 Posted February 1, 2019 Again I don't see any SH Logo or badge..
quixotic Posted February 2, 2019 Share #16 Posted February 2, 2019 I have exactly the same thing on mine. Bought it from japan a month or two ago. I had a look at the badge under the microscope. It's a solid little metal unit, but I managed to pry it off with my fingernail. It's ductile, so I guess it's some sort of metal. It was just stuck on with a dab of glue. It left no scarring on the body. I guess I'll just leave it off, even though it looks fine either way. Welcome, dear visitor! Another curious thing is, according to a serial number source, mine should have been a black model...! I can't seem to upload the pic...?🤔
