Hi Michael!

There's another picture of the R7 sh, can you see the golden square on the lower left portion of the picture?

I dont have any other picture as it seem to be really uncommon.

Thx!!

https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w286691998 Per Post #4, this is definitely not a Leica  R7 Urushi 'Siber Hegner' (1995. Special edition for 130th anniversary of Japanese Leica dealer "Nihon Siber Hegner", only 200 cameras made). This chrome R7 looks standard, probably with a vanity badge as T.E. commented. Note the spelling: "sh (Sebel Hegner)". From the link that I found, and if it's the same camera illustration, SN 1919844 is a 1992 R7. Caveat emptor.

Why do you not show us the logo on a picture? I don't see any SH anywhere!

Special Heritage edition ... 😊

Joking apart, as PGK has indicated above, I suspect this is just a dealer's badge. There is a shop called "SH Photo" in Germany, but whether there is any connection between them and this camera is beyond my knowledge.

People stick all sorts of badges on their cameras, it's clearly not a Leica special edition and I wouldn't be happy if a dealer stuck their badge on a camera I was buying.

James, I agree. There was a similar trend with new cars some years ago, when dealers stuck a tacky (in more ways than one) dealer's badge on the brand new cars they sold. Though not then prosperous enough to buy a brand new car, I remember thinking that if I was, I'd make it a condition of sale that such tat wasn't stuck on mine. Same now with a brand new Leica.

I have exactly the same thing on mine.  Bought it from japan a month or two ago.  I had a look at the badge under the microscope.  It's a solid little metal unit, but I managed to pry it off with my fingernail.  It's ductile, so I guess it's some sort of metal.  It was just stuck on with a dab of glue.  It left no scarring on the body.  I guess I'll just leave it off, even though it looks fine either way.

Greetings from Singapore.

I've got an R7 Chrome with same sh badge, but @ the back of the camera.

Another curious thing is, according to a serial number source, mine should have been a black model...!

I can't seem to upload the pic...?🤔
