So I was shooting with M10 for two years and then got am M60.  The M60 is wonderful -- the shutter release button is big without even a hole in it.  There's no EVF2 hole in that camera either, nor a grip hole, nor any extra wheels or buttons, or even levers.  You turn it on and that's it.  There's a next position after off/on, settings, but it requires a harder push.  You never get there unless you try harder.

So when I got the Monochrom Typ 246, I've finally experienced what all the 24x family production bodies have, the off/S/C/timer switch.  And I regularly end up going to C, which I almost never need.

Sure I get some random fun series where people blink or light changes slightly.  But most of the time I do not need that.

How do you guys train yourselves to turn on into S only?  Almost wish there were a hardware stop at S that you could lock/unlock...

😉 done that too years ago.

But as Jaapv wrote "muscle memory", the only way.

At first, I put some kind of stopper (tape at right place "try-n-error" before "C" ) , it moved, so I trained my muscle memory after that.

If you never use C-Mode and the Selftimer you could put a drop of Sugru (https://www.amazon.com/Sugru-Moldable-Glue-Original-Formula/dp/B074XFLBXW/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1546667884&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=sugru&psc=1) on the top plate as a hard stop. In case you suddenly need the other modes you could easily rip it off again without doing harm to the camera.
