There is only so much one can get across with regard to a camera’s and lens’ capabilities in a small image. That being said, the 35 APO is one of the best lenses I have ever used. It has extraordinary micro contrast even wide open, is flare resistant, is compact, is easy to focus accurately at most subject distances (like all 35’s), is sharp to the corners, has very low coma, and has essentially no visible chromatic aberration. The M11 with its 3.76 micron pixels, low read noise, and high sensitivity takes good advantage of the 35mm APO-M. This particular photo was made under wonderfully soft pre-dawn light at a location filled vibrant colors and stunning scenery. I was happy with the photo. Others may find it cliche; it’s hard to find a unique perspective at such a well known location with very limited choices on where to stand or sit due to the surrounding cliffs. The M11 and 35mm were a great combo. Small and light kit for a moderately challenging scramble in the dark. I also had a 21mm, a 50mm, and a 75mm Noctilux with me, but this image was the best. In my admittedly biased view it conveyed the wide perspective without feeling unnatural or forced. That’s one of the things 35mm’s are really good at.
