The 35mm is probably about as close to a universal, do it all lens as we have in the world of 24x36mm format image making.

The current 35mm Summicron has a 63 degree angle of view while the current 28mm Summicron has a 75 degree angle of view.  This is somewhat of a subtle difference, but are the 35 'cron and the 28 'cron close enough to be thought of as interchangeable as a do it all lens?

Do Leica M photographers think of the 28mm as being on a level playing field with the 35mm for use as a universal lens?

Think this justifies a thread on its own and will be lost/disturb a photo thread.
