40mm Rokkor

I have no experience with the Rokkor 40/2 v1 for Minolta CL but i have both Summicron-C 40/2 and Rokkor 40/2 v2 for Minolta CLE. The latter is my favorite due to multi vs mono coating, regular vs sloping focus cam and 40.5mm vs Series 5.5 filters. Aside from flare, both image qualities are similar with a bit more contrast out of the Rokkor v2. When strong light sources are outside the frame, the Rokkor v2 has a better flare protection than the Summicron. The same is true about Rokkor 90/4 for CLE vs Elmar-C 90/4 BTW.

I have the v1 M-Rokkor and, despite the sloping focus cam, it does focus perfectly on my M10.  

One of my favorite “daily carry” lenses, the other being the C-Biogon 35mm 2.8.

Contrary to the Summicron-C (Series 5.5), the Rokkor v1 for Minolta CL uses regular 39mm filters i've been told. Would you mind to confirm?

I'm the lucky owner of some very nice Leica lenses like Sumiluxes (35mm FLE, 50mm Pre-ASPH v.3, 75mm) and even a mighty Noctilux (50mm v.2), but the lens I use the most is the "cheap" Minolta M-Rokkor "Summikkor" 40mm f/2.0 II (CLE).

Its 40mm focal matches the 35mm frame off my M10 perfectly, so framing is easy... furthermore it's is the lightest (~105g) and the smallest* (length : 22mm, without hood) of all my lenses and it is also very versatile. I just love this little gem !

*edit : my Leica Summaron-M 28mm f/5.6 is actually 4mm shorter

I bought a Summicron 40mm f2 a few months ago and it’s a great lens. Don’t use anything else on my M10-P since I got it.
