B&W only listed in black. Amazon 49mm silver ones are cheap brands only.

That's what i found. Surely Leica makes a 49mm in silver for their own silver Leica Qs?? What do you other silver Leica Q owners use? Black?

Off topic, but it's ironic that owners of the new VC 50mm 1.2 VM are fitting black filters to avoid problems with the outer reflective silver that Zeiss and Voigt. seem to find necessary trims for their lenses!

Black is not such a hardship for the silver Q though ;).

The interior front of the lens is black. I would think a black filter looks fine especially since the hood covers it. Good luck on your pursuit of a silver one. I also would think Leica would make filters in silver.

They make other sizes in silver, I just can't to seem to find one in 49mm. I have 39, 46 and 60mm in silver.

You really don't want silver. I have a silver Q and have a B&W 49 in Black. If you get a silver you will have a silver outer ring a middle ring in black and then the silver filter ring. Here is mine with the black filter.

You know i never even bothered to really check. I just assumed silver worked. The black seems to make sense!

Very kind of you. I will check if silver really works. Good luck with the operation!

Just for my curiosity: Is the silver filter black inside or silver as well? Can silver inside not cause reflections?

My dealer only sold me black ones. Probably he had no silver ones and wanted to sell filters 🙂

The main drawback of many silver filters is that the inside surfaces of the ring are silver as well. That can and will give flare and reflections. If you must use one, paint the inside flat black.
