Cheers, John But there is still a problem when attempting to follow links from the WIKI to comments about the respective items in the Forum.
LUF Admin Posted October 18, 2018 Share #103 Posted October 18, 2018 Sorry for that - these links are pointing to posts of the forum before 2014. Until now they were forwarded by a script which doesn't work with the new software. Andresd
andybarton Posted October 18, 2018 Share #104 Posted October 18, 2018 There also appears to be an issue with including more shots in separate posts on the same thread.
mdemeyer Posted October 18, 2018 Share #105 Posted October 18, 2018 One thing I’m missing (or can’t figure out). The old site, unless my memory tricks me, let you jump directly to your first unread post in a thread. This one marks threads with new posts but only allows you to jump to the last page of the thread, which may or may not be where you left off.
Gibbo Posted October 18, 2018 Share #106 Posted October 18, 2018 If you click on the star (if you've already contributed to a thread) or dot (if you haven't) to the left of the thread title it will transport you to the latest post since you last looked in on the thread.
farnz Posted October 18, 2018 Share #107 Posted October 18, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, Andreas, My Premium subscription expires in a few days but I can't see how to make sure that it's automatically renewed or how to update or change my method of payment. Would you very kindly explain how I can do this so that my subscription doesn't accidentally lapse please? Pete.

farnz Posted October 19, 2018 Share #109 Posted October 19, 2018 Thanks, Andy. That tells me how to start a new Premium membership but I'm looking for how to ensure that my current Premium membership automatically and seamlessly renews. In the former software there was an item on your profile where you could set up automatic renewal and when the membership was due to expire etc but I haven't been able to find it in the new software. Pete.

Steve Ricoh Posted October 22, 2018 Share #112 Posted October 22, 2018 I seem to be alone here; for me the 'new' site software is causing my tablet (iPad, which is my main interface for this sort of stuff), great discontinuity in both viewing images from other members, and when attempting to enter a written (read: typed) response. The site crashes needing a reset. I hope this is a temporary situation during the transition phase and that normal service will resume afterwards, otherwise I'm fuuucked! ckuwajima Posted October 22, 2018 Share #113 Posted October 22, 2018 Hi, the new sites is very slow at times, not only on my tablet (iPad), but on all devices in general.
Gibbo Posted October 22, 2018 Share #114 Posted October 22, 2018 I have also noticed that the forum takes a while to load the next page from time to time. Quite often!
Steve Ricoh Posted October 23, 2018 Share #115 Posted October 23, 2018 Bring back the 'old' forum; yes it had its quirks but was more responsive, and in all the time that I used it, it did not crash.
Gibbo Posted October 23, 2018 Share #116 Posted October 23, 2018 I like the new forum and accept that there will be some teething problems. I think this is probably the best place for us to list them so that Andreas can gradually prioritise them and resolve them. It would be unrealistic for us to expect Andreas to be able to find all the issues on his own and for any one of us to get hot under the collar shows total lack of empathy!! He has explained why there has been a migration to new software and calling for a return to the old version completely misses the point. Having overseen software upgrades in the past I can only wonder at how well this has been implemented without a small army to help him. Well done again, Andreas! LocalHero1953 Posted October 23, 2018 Share #117 Posted October 23, 2018 I have seen no crashes at all, either in Chrome/Windows 10 or Android. And I can't say I've noticed slow loading of pages either. The one thing I have found that seems slow is searches, but I didn't use that facility much before, so I may be misremembering.
semi-ambivalent Posted October 24, 2018 Share #118 Posted October 24, 2018 If the devs got rid of the 'mark-forum-as-read' pop up it would be a substantial improvement. There is enough messaging in the post's title text going from bold to not bold to require such a pointless addition. It's slow too and slows up the general response of the page. I like the rest of the new layout but after a good deal of use this remains just too annoying.
Steve Ricoh Posted October 26, 2018 Share #119 Posted October 26, 2018 It's a great pity that I can no longer use this forum without having to fire up my laptop, and then wait for an eternity whilst the AV does its stuff. Prior to the update I was comfortably using my aging iPad 2 without a hitch. Now it crashes on a regular basis. By comparison RFF runs on the same iPad without a problem, with a snappy response and no crashes. So what's going on? Is the new version of the Leica Forum more demanding on resources meaning older 'computing systems' are no longer capable? Anyway, I'm spending less and less time here for the problems mentioned, very unfortunate as I like to engage with the pictures section.
andybarton Posted October 26, 2018 Share #120 Posted October 26, 2018 That’s odd. Works fine with my iPhone here.
