Downloaded Fotos beta this a.m.  Upgraded CL firmware and was irritated to discover that although the install instructions for CL firmware 2.1 state that "the camera will guide you through the backup process of your personal settings," it did not do this.

Once upgraded, the Fotos beta seems to work nicely with the CL.  One thing that bothers me is that when using a phone to control the camera, the Focus Mode is set to Touch AF and this mode persists after the camera is disconnected from the phone.  I'd like it if the mode that was set on the camera previous to connection to Fotos was restored.

I'll sit down and run through the different cameras, but all of this sounds familiar to me on first approach (with Android 7.0 and v24_Photokina app).  I also found my CL left in touch-AF.  There is a path to explicitly disconnect the camera.  Touch the upper right corner "gear" to see the disconnect option.  See if that resets the CL to its original condition.  The use the reporting functions to summarize to Leica.  The forum discussion should be just for us, to target issues that we need to look at further, and keep everyone up to date on new releases.

I've worked with an earlier version of the Fotos app on Android, and they are making progress on connectivity, believe me.

You download the beta app through Apple TestFlight app that you need to install first after you've signed up for beta-testing with Leica.

Feedback on the performance, bugs, issues is collected automatically through the TestFlight association.

TestFlight informed me this morning that 24.1 of Fotos for iOS was ready and waiting.  It connects to my SL (and supposedly to the TL2 as well, but I don't have one.).  Remote seems to work, but I was unable to view the pictures already on the card -- large card, 600+ pictures, 8 folders, none came up, and when I asked it to download the first two, it couldn't.  Fotos could not find my email app on the iPad mini (I use it mostly as a Kindle), so I couldn't report this.

Fotos 24.1 (for iOS)

iPad mini with iOS 12.

Android version is still at 24.0 it appear.  Can't connect to the SL.  But I noticed that it can show a landscape picture in landscape from its gallery.

Fotos updated to 24.1. Works fine with M10 and SL. Actually, the previous build worked with both cameras too.

With FW 3.3. and 24.1 the connectivity is fine with my SL.

Kudos to Leica.

Much easier than any app I know.

No profile to save anymore.

But my filename F1000002 is exported as DO1000002.

Already reported to app-support, together with screenshots.

I downloaded Android 24.2.1 on my Moto G4, Android 7.0.  It connected to the SL but remote operation was not solid.  Lens mounted was an R 80/1.4 on Leica adapter (R to L).  Operation stuck in P mode, couldn't get to A mode.  Crashed.  Reported all this.

Now trying iOS 24.2 which is also now available.  On iPad mini.  It works better.  Remote works, although it still thinks it is in P mode when it should be in A.  Previous settings are retained in the camera.  Scanning 650 files on a large chip took about 10 min before I could see the newest thumbnails.  I didn't try M mode, as it is late here.

I’d like to use the app asap as I am going on a trip in 8 days.

Does anybody know if it (and how) possible to get the app for iPhone (not available on Leica we site anymore) ? Or when it will be publicly available on the appstore?

thanks

You need to register to join the beta.  Go to fotosapp.leica-camera.com and click on "Early Access."  It may take a while before you get the invitation and some instructions.  Both the Android and iOS versions of the app still have bugs, so you may not want to complicate your trip with this.
