Ok! It's in my hands!! Finally! Thank you for all your advice, was able to get serial 216, & best thing is it can focus to 0.8m!! Will post pics taken w/ it later!

One piece of advice, do not use this lens on a M8 or M9 unless the rear shroud has been filed appropriately or removed !

Maybe the lens has been prepared  .

I damaged a 216 v2 on a M9 last year ...

Sorry, on the contrary, it should not be at infinity . If you look at the rear element, it protrudes more at infinity and the shroud can hit the inner body of the M9..

I just checked on a 222. I'd use it on other cameras . Check with your local Leica repair person.
