After going through this thread a few times, I had to have one...I've never owned such a strange and wonderful lens before. The 1st 3 or 4 clicks of the aperture from 1.4 through 2.2 brings such interesting results. Just got this lens yesterday, weather is crap so I've been inside.....1992 Black, German, mint... it's buttery smooth, I'm smitten

Out of all the lenses and camera combinations, an M camera with a 35 mm Summilux M  pre asph is by far the most pleasurable combination a photographer could ever hope for. It feels so good to have one back in front of my M10R

I feel the same but with a film M. its everithing I need.

I apologize if this has been asked before but I'm having difficulties finding the data - how many pre-ASPH TITANIUM 35mm summiluxes have been produced during the run (I presume in 1991 and 1992), how many altogether? Thank you!

I have a late serial number German titanium copy 360.. and I "think" I read 500 were made all together but I am not certain that is gospel.
