stray cat Posted August 27, 2018 Author Share #23 Posted August 27, 2018 Wolfgang - thank you sincerely for your beautiful pictures with their very strong graphics - I especially enjoyed seeing the galloping horse in "Lüneburger Heide". Thank you especially, though, for your wonderful anecdote about your son's ambition, and the determination he had to see it fulfilled. It is truly inspirational. Along with John's story of his grandson we have portraits of two very dedicated dreamers who reached for the sky and attained it.

farnz Posted August 27, 2018 Share #28 Posted August 27, 2018 . My humble offering is taken from above but no aircraft was involved, just The Shard, the tallest building in Europe. (I have no problem with flying but it tends to be in airliners on the way to exotic locations; airliners' windows/portholes present their own challenges to photographers.) Pete. farnz Posted August 27, 2018 Share #32 Posted August 27, 2018 Phil (Stray Cat), I have to apologise because somehow my mind mentally translated your thread title from "Aerial photography" to 'shots taken from above', which is entirely my fault and I should have taken more care. I'm not able to remove my pictures now but if you wish I shall restrict my postings to this thread to those taken from aircraft. And pictures of aerials of course. (Not serious about the latter. ) Pete.
stray cat Posted August 27, 2018 Author Share #33 Posted August 27, 2018 Phil (Stray Cat), I have to apologise because somehow my mind mentally translated your thread title from "Aerial photography" to 'shots taken from above', which is entirely my fault and I should have taken more care. I'm not able to remove my pictures now but if you wish I shall restrict my postings to this thread to those taken from aircraft. And pictures of aerials of course. (Not serious about the latter. ) Pete. Hi Pete, and thank you so much for contributing to this thread which is surpassing all my expectations for it! No, your shots (and Sparky's) from buildings show a lateral and logical extension of the brief - there is no clash there at all. And, more importantly, they only help expand our understanding of the world from above - those shots from the shard, the eye and the burj might well have been taken from aircraft once upon a time and it causes pause for thought about how much of the sky engineers, architects and builders have been able to commandeer. And, yes, pictures of aerials will be welcomed with open arms! Let's have as liberal an interpretation as the devious mind can conjure!

Pico, you have lived (still are!), just different pursuits. eg. your motor bikes and your VW etc. All of which I could envy.
