I shoot with the 85 nikkor 1.4 ( on the nikons ) and have seen similar "bokeh" issues wide open when the light hits just right (wrong). [ that said, its a FABULOUS portrait lens when the background is not complicated]. Interesting seeing the same issue on the CL in the 1.8 version. Best, Coos Coos, thank you very much for your.feedback.I really don’t have any answer for this issu. Maybe I had the wrong opening? This Nikkor 85 mm, whether f/ 1.4 or 1.8, is supposed to be the best Nikkor lens ever, even my old one of the 70s. I know, it was mostly made for portraits. I still kept a few Nikkor lenses from the good old time, and the other day, I just decided to put my 85 mm on my camera, when I took this shot.
