anorphirith Posted August 21, 2018 Share #1 Posted August 21, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm sorry for your loss, and the fact that you now own obsolete technology. Just to make it clear in your mind. The M10 is now antiquated: Obnoxiously loud because it's using a legacy shutter. so loud it could easily disturb a wedding in progress, a procession in mourning or even a girl's sweet 16 majestic speech. And since it's lacking a touchscreen, it is, as we discovered, very clunky and unnatural to use. Having you use 20th century technology (switches) to navigate through the menus and scroll through your epic captures. Overmore it's the pinnacle of indiscretion, sporting a loud have you seen me red dot right on the front of it's otherwise perfect slate; facing your unassuming subjects. A "have you seen me" moment to be embarrassed about. You thought you could compromise when you bought your M10, but quickly found out that random strangers were staring at it and at you, hindering the pure photographic process in it's running. Thankfully I volunteer myself to relieve you of this shameful possession, helping you through the process of regaining your dignity by purchasing the only worthy Leica, no-compromise, superior M10-P. A camera so much more advance it will finally let you be free of worldly constraints and capture those transcending moments. pm me your lowly offers.

a.noctilux Posted August 21, 2018 Share #2 Posted August 21, 2018 Are you sure that you are hunting for M10 ? You would gain some medals as "Recycling Hero". But I bid that you would have none lowly offer .
pedaes Posted August 21, 2018 Share #3 Posted August 21, 2018 No suprise for any Leica user of digital M's. First the cooking model, 18 months later the dogs dangly bits model. Same with cars etc etc, prior to launch there is a meeting to agree what to take out so there is something to add at the 'refresh'. Learn to embrace and enjoy! pedaes Posted August 21, 2018 Share #5 Posted August 21, 2018 Talk to me in two years, or if by some miracle the rumored Zeiss is an M mount. Zeiss will be ZM mount to match their lenses.
earleygallery Posted August 21, 2018 Share #6 Posted August 21, 2018 I'm sorry for your loss, and the fact that you now own obsolete technology. It's not a joke, the bitching and whinging have already started!
Tailwagger Posted August 21, 2018 Share #7 Posted August 21, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Zeiss will be ZM mount to match their lenses. Which is an M mount. Or if you prefer, a mount compatible with M lenses. But unless you have some inside information you'd like to share, as yet I've read nothing that even suggests, let alone confirms this. Nor even that what they are hinting at is in fact a camera at all. We shall see. Regardless, it would appear that there is a significant amount of activity of interest in mirrorless space coming before the end of the year.
pico Posted August 21, 2018 Share #8 Posted August 21, 2018 I'm sorry for your loss, and the fact that you now own obsolete technology. I look forward to your M12 comments. Until then you are ignored.
pgh Posted August 21, 2018 Share #9 Posted August 21, 2018 Talk to me when they actually update the sensor, maybe then I'll be interested =) Until then the M10 is the same stellar 6 year old technology that it was when it was new. Or, I guess, 7 year old now. At that point what's the difference!
madrigalmaster Posted August 21, 2018 Share #10 Posted August 21, 2018 Not fair.I bought the M10 just recently. They should have a program to exchange the cameras for some dollars
dkmoore Posted August 22, 2018 Share #11 Posted August 22, 2018 Its 100% known that the M-P version is released 1.5-2 years after the standard M version. This has happened regularly at least since the M8.
Salqass Posted August 22, 2018 Share #12 Posted August 22, 2018 Not fair.I bought the M10 just recently. They should have a program to exchange the cameras for some dollars Yes lol — I bought mine 3 weeks ago. I knew the P was coming, but I didn't think it was coming this soon! I am super happy with my decision though. I for one don't really care for the touchscreen and think that the shutter sound of the M10 is beautiful, I don't care for a quieter one.
Marcial Posted August 22, 2018 Share #13 Posted August 22, 2018 (edited) I also bought mine 3 wks ago at the Leica Park store under the M9 sensor corrosion trade in program. They had a factory seconds type M10 with a barely visible top plate flaw at a pretty nice discount. Made the Wetzlar side trip very worthwhile. I don't begrudge the M10-P at all given my circumstances and there is no way I would pay the premium for the latest and greatest. 250swb Posted August 22, 2018 Share #14 Posted August 22, 2018 As years go by it becomes ever more obvious that the 'P' no longer means 'professional' but something else...........
anorphirith Posted August 22, 2018 Author Share #15 Posted August 22, 2018 [...]I am super happy with my decision though. I for one don't really care for the touchscreen and think that the shutter sound of the M10 is beautiful, I don't care for a quieter one. that's called mental gymnastics, keep doing it, it's helps with coping.
Fedro Posted August 22, 2018 Share #16 Posted August 22, 2018 P for "Posh"? They have not done anything different than they did in the past. It was expected and some of the specs rumoured for some time But honestly I don't get some of the comments I have seen on the forum on this, they are meant to be sarcastic, but come across as sore The M10 is wonderful as is, and so was the 240 and the 9 before that and so on considering when they were built and technology available. if you like the upgrade buy it and if not move on and spend more time understanding and using the camera you have
