An arctic fox on the Latrabjerg cliff (Iceland) : nice to see, but VERY wild… and with a not friendly barking...

Nice image of a very intimidating little fox. I always thought they only came in white, like this. Perhaps the coat gets white in winter?

Yes, I think that that dark grey is their summer dress… btw, the other one I saw, next to the above one, had a similar color (indeed they almost looked like a twin couple) : it  moved fast and could get a shot only in a quick moment of stop, when was even more far from me... so the resulting picture was even more problematic…  (I could have tried to switch from 135mm to 280mm... but time was critical… they disappeared after just 6 or 7 seconds…)

Nice captures. Wonderful to see results from 135mm ApoTelyt. Luigi, Can u post one w/o crop so I can see how much cropping u did, as I'm considering to buy 135mm ApoTelyt for my M(240) but can't find any images. Thnx.

I don't know how useful this will be to you, but back in my early M3 days I had the 135mm (goggles) and found it very difficult to use. Maybe the new ones are better but the focus throw on mine was too far for me to react quickly. For static subjects it was fine.

This is the uncropped - unprocessed picture… was a difficult moment to take and, to be realistic, the image had been much better with some APS or m43 autofocus zoomed camera… : the fox was far, moving abruptly time to time… i had just the time to Mount quickly the 135, try to focus, shot… shot again… and as I said in 6-7 seconds both the foxes ran away (with a short stop of one, which allowed me to take the 2nd pic) ; this imho is a picture that says nothing about the quality of the Apo telyt in itself… I had also to enhance focus in PP, which is an operation I hate to do…

Fact is that I was completely un-prepared to this meet… arctic foxes aren't rare in Iceland, but usually stay far away from humans… after those pictures, I stood in place, quietly, for 10 minutes about, and with a stronger Tele on (280, with EVF and camera set at 2500 ASA) , hoping to have a 2nd chance with a better preparation… but nothing appeared anymore… :(

I’m sorry if I was rude but the image is unacceptable. Member since 2003. Am I the senior member?

OK… :( I'm not trying to sell anything to anyone… posted it just because this is the right area of the forum for such subjects… and this is a surely uncommon (*) one; btw, the A4 print is acceptable for my personal book…

(*)  This is surely more common and a lot easier to take… :D … Apo Telyt again, anyway… and more acceptable, I hope...
