alex7075 Posted July 10, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 10, 2007 ie. about 3000 Euro. This is the highest I have seen so far for a Noctilux without warranty. I apologize for my ignorance, but how can it be that a warranty doesn't go with the lens it belongs to?
AGeoJO Posted July 11, 2007 Share #5 Posted July 11, 2007 ??? a new noctilux is 3k so thats $6000 That is in Euro not British poundsterling. You multiply that by about 1.35 or so judging by the current exchange rate.
Bill W Posted July 11, 2007 Share #6 Posted July 11, 2007 The 30% lens discount offer for early M8 purchasers only gives the warranty to the original M8 owner. It is not transferable.

egibaud Posted July 11, 2007 Share #8 Posted July 11, 2007 This is not today Leica catalog price, this is ebay price.... and to me something NEW that cost less that catalog price is something to worry about. In France catalog price for new is 4013 Euros + (19% VAT), in Germany price is similar... wit tax this makes the Notilux cost 4775 Euros = US$ 6560 Some dealer will accept to negociate price, I got mine for 3700 Euros + tax. But forget about a 3000 Euros price tag! About 3 months ago Leica increased the price quiet a bit. The only reason I see for a NEW noctilux at 3000 Euros is that the dealer had it in stock before price went up. Eric
luigi bertolotti Posted July 11, 2007 Share #9 Posted July 11, 2007 I have never bought anything on Ebay, I'm diffident by nature... but this seems to me not a strange offer... the seller points out correctly the warranty issue... clearly he's aware of what a Noctilux is, of the 6 bit coding... maybe it can be a 30% discounted lens old-price based... a good biz for the seller, who of course try to take the highest price with a narrow timeframe; I have not at all the idea to buy a Noctilux (not only for practical reason ...time ago I posted a personal story - thread about the old Nocti 1,2... ) bur if would I have such a wish, I'll consider this item at the price it has now reached on this ebay bid... tom0511 Posted July 11, 2007 Share #10 Posted July 11, 2007 The 30% lens discount offer for early M8 purchasers only gives the warranty to the original M8 owner. It is not transferable. As far as I know there should be a least 6 month guarantee no matter how often the lens changes the owner. I might be wrong.
