abrewer Posted July 17, 2018 Share #5 Posted July 17, 2018 A loyal volunteer, no doubt. Good on him, and the museum. Did you visit the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum while you were in Beantown, Stuart? It looks like you were in the same neighborhood . . . Fenway. It's another gem of a small space, with an idyllic Italianate courtyard. Splendid collection too (Sargent in particular).
stuny Posted July 18, 2018 Author Share #6 Posted July 18, 2018 Tinker55 - thank you. Allan - Thank you. We've been to the ISG several times before but didn't have time to revisit. Since last there they've added at least two buildings connected to the original. Next time. Regarding Sargent, the main entryway ceilings and dome of the MFA are covered with Sargent murals. He liked the idea of doing them so that they would always be on display. Here are just some of them: Welcome, dear visitor! abrewer Posted July 18, 2018 Share #7 Posted July 18, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Magnificent, Stuart Of course, it's Sargent's eremitic portrait of Mrs. Gardner at her museum that forever teases the imagination

Louis Posted July 22, 2018 Share #14 Posted July 22, 2018 Saturday morning at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston Very nice. I missed this one when you posted it. One of the rare time that, IMHO, centered subject can work. Your other shots are really gorgeous. I have been shooting inside of museums in Italy and in DC, and I know how difficult it could be. stuny Posted July 23, 2018 Author Share #15 Posted July 23, 2018 Fred - Thank you. Louis - Thank you. I too avoid having subject in the center of photos, and usually leave more space to the side which is more in front of them, but not always.
