wda Posted July 2, 2018 Share #2 Posted July 2, 2018 Rùdobra, welcome to the forum and thank you for sharing your railway pictures with us. You certainly show some angles and viewpoints not available to many. No 6 demands a second look. Your unique pictures remind me of a sea captain member of the old forum who shared amazing pictures from his ship traversing the oceans. We haven'T heard from him for several years now. Enjoy your membership.
Michael Geschlecht Posted July 2, 2018 Share #3 Posted July 2, 2018 (edited) Hello Rudobra, Welcome to the Forum. Nice photos, all. Did you know that there are also 2 different railroad photo oriented Threads in the German side of the Forum that have photos of railroads which are sometimes contributed to by people who write in English & other languages? It is nice to have railroad photos like yours here also, as "Ted99", "Hamey" & others do some times. Michael Geschlecht Posted July 2, 2018 Share #4 Posted July 2, 2018 Hello Rudobra, In American English the name for a "yard train driver" historically is a "Hostler". Best Regards, Michael

Michael Geschlecht Posted July 2, 2018 Share #6 Posted July 2, 2018 (edited) Hello Rudobra, The name for a "train driver" who drives a train between stations is an "engineer". Sometimes called a "railroad engineer". If there is a second person, who is helping, riding with the engineer, in the engine: This person is called a "fireman". In American English. British English for these jobs might be different. Best Regards, Michael Edited July 2, 2018 by Michael Geschlecht

abrewer Posted August 5, 2018 Share #10 Posted August 5, 2018 Salut, Rudobra Wonderful images. I am a huge fan of forced perspective (like these receding rail lines) to create better photos. Well done! These are a treat for us over here, where train travel is a rarity for most of the population. These perspectives are something many people have never experienced. Welcome to the Forum. Keep posting please!
