yst Posted June 29, 2018 Share #1 Posted June 29, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I wonder how would be the experiences of those who used this "Leica Super-Vario-Elmar-T 11-23mm f/3.5-4.5 ASPH Lens"? (Since I only have M lens from 21mm/f2.8 onward, and would be a "big" size on a CL, but still only to be 31mm.) While the "11-23mm f/3.5-4.5" has a wide range but is so slow... what do you think? Also what do you think of it's value at $1,900?
Advertisement Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Hi yst, Take a look here How is the CL "11-23mm f/3.5-4.5 Lens"?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Photon42 Posted June 29, 2018 Share #2 Posted June 29, 2018 Yes - it is the only game in town, if you want to go wide. Mind you, the Super Elmar on the M has only f/3.4, too. And this one goes to 11
scott kirkpatrick Posted June 29, 2018 Share #3 Posted June 29, 2018 This is a redundant thread. Have a look at the very enthusiastic https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/284984-performance-of-tl-11-23mm/ .
FlashGordonPhotography Posted June 29, 2018 Share #4 Posted June 29, 2018 It may be the only game in town but it's a very good game indeed. It's a great lens. Gordon
mgrayson3 Posted June 29, 2018 Share #5 Posted June 29, 2018 The 11-23 and the 35/1.4 make a great 2 lens kit. Not just "great for APS-C". I don't have the 16-35 SL lens yet, but the 11-23 is the best wide zoom I've tried. For example, it trounces the SL+WATE. Matt

mgrayson3 Posted June 30, 2018 Share #7 Posted June 30, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) How so? Sharpness, which isn't everything, but the difference is stark.
Mr.Q Posted July 1, 2018 Share #8 Posted July 1, 2018 Sharpness, which isn't everything, but the difference is stark. Hmm, my copy of the WATE is extremely sharp. Very comparable to the 21 SEM @ F8, which means the 11-23 is even sharper than the 21 SEM?
PDP Posted July 2, 2018 Share #9 Posted July 2, 2018 My answer after 3 days of use: it is sharp, it is fast, it has this great Leica-colors. It is not very small, but it feels good in my hand. closest distance 20cm, that is great with 11mm (18mm), because then you even have bokeh. And you can make some funny portraits...I am really happy to have an 18mm equivalent with me and at the same time able to work until 35mm equivalent. I really like it.
