The often as clinical dismissed Summicron ASPH flares super nicely. Nice shots!

Is it the scan, the resolution downsampling, the forum algorithm why so many shots in this thread are so soft? Unfortunately even when I click on the photos sharpness wont come back. This applies to the majority of photos I see here.

I think it may be all of the above. The lab didn’t do a great job in scanning, and the forum upload resolution doesn’t help either ..

I've noticed the same.  For people who rave about film, Leica cameras and lenses, the photos posted here, generally, are crap.  Much of the blame lies with the photographer for poor and uninteresting compositions but the website has some responsibility as well for poor quality hosting.  Then one has to ask, why are you shooting film if the negs are going to be scanned and posted online?  They become low quality digital images.  I notice that in the digital M forums, their photos always look better (from a quality image POV, not necessarily from a compositional POV.

Love the look of a classic film stock like Tri-X capturing the modern world.

Re the quality of the photos posted here, I always link to my Flickr, and always ask anyone actually interested in evaluating the composition of the photo to click through. Otherwise yes, the images look pretty terrible.  I scan my negatives at an insanely overkill resolution and it's a bummer to see them on the forum all futzy.

All M6TTL w/ Summilux 35 FLE v2, Tri-X 400 pushed one stop, then scanned at 7200dpi on a Plustek 8300i. Click through for hi-res.

Lens and film stock please

This is a iphone shot of a 16x20 fiber base print I made, on a Focomat IIc.
I never, ever, crop. I keep all my work unadulterated. This way I completely use the essence of my Leica equipment and it makes me shoot and compose in a strict way. Hence, the black border on all my images.

Leica MP 0.58, 24mm summilux, HP5@800, rodinal 1:50 regular agitation (never stand, unless you want to ruin everything).

I started using Rodinal 50:1 to develop 135 Tri-X and after some missteps got some good advice on how to get the best results from it. Last week I did one test roll in Rodinal 100:1 stand development and the results were terrible. Thick, dense negatives and no real reduction in grain compared to 50:1.

Beautiful print.

stand is a misrake that has, sadly, been overhyped.

 Thanks!
