Oh, no worries, I have read many articles and watched videos about home development. One day. I am just scared to death that I will mess up fiddling the film into the spool. This, to me, seems to be the most frightening bit.  ☺️

Understood. When all else fails just put the loose film without the reel into a developing tank.  Set it aside and chilax with a cold beverage. Try loading the film later that day or wait until the next.  I’ve done this a couple of times.

Thank you, that’s good advice. And sorry for abusing this thread for beginner’s troubles.

Sill has some of the Wally Byam Caravan Club numbers. My parents had several different Airstreams starting in the mid 1960s. Went to several of the big rallies, some with as many as three thousand trailers. Our number was 12939.

Experimented using Kodaks Vision3 250D film with ECN-2 processing. Colour palette fits well within what I like to produce so found a common friend amongst what I usually use (my love of Portra 800).

Shot on a Leica MP + 50mm Summilux. Profoto B1X camera left with a Elinchrom Octabox modifier attached.

Kodak 250D Vision3 film that has been ECN-2 processed.

Taken with a Leica MP and 35mm Summicron. Have added cream tones to the mid-tones and highlights with a slight boost to the blacks. Profoto B1X to camera left with a elinchrom Octabox as the modifier.

Amazing shot! Did you rate it at box speed? How do you meter? And speed of 1/50, what was the aperture? Im so interested in this, shooting studio lights with leica and all its limitation is quite challenging!

Yes rated it at box speed. I meter like I do my digital photos to be honest. I have a PocketWizard on my M10. Host the same settings on the M10 and when I find a balance that I think translates well, replicate it on my MP.

Aperture can be 2.8 - 5.6. If I shoot 2.8 or lower I will lower power on the B1X.

Heading into Manhattan from JFK in March 2013, late afternoon.

M7 & 35mm Zeiss Sonnar-C f/2.8 Portra 400

Almost certainly poorly exposed, the lab scanning gave it an odd comic book effect.

Some Paris photos taken in winter but developed only recently. I really love the "time travel" nature of shooting films and Portra400 brought out the most beautiful winter light.
