Hello, You are absolutely right, #21 is most probably CorTen so not "real" rust.

Regards,  Arto

It had the “look”. First time I installed a Cor Ten steel sign on a project I was Superintending was in 1979.

Nice.  Looks well oxidized, any idea what it is, and how old? Hitching ring?

Thanks...

Thanks. This is from the ruins of St. Mary's Church in New Ross, Ireland, dating from the early thirteenth century.  These are on an inside walls so their purpose is ? There are fine Medieval stone carvings there as well.

Wally -

That cartoon character, which I think dates back to the 1950s, is called Reddy Kilowatt, and was used by an association of electrical utilities.

EDIT:  I just Googled it - Reddy dates back to the 1920s.

Hi Stuart. Amazing what you can find on Google, I'll have to "Google" more often.  This logo was found at an electric railway museum.

After 50 some odd years constructing things all over the world I can testify those Neenah Iron Foundry manhole covers are like a rash on the body of the USA. I’ve seen those things with every utility company’s logo than I thought possible.
