Advertisement Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Hi james.liam, Take a look here What’s the expected timing of the M10-MP?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
PaulJohn Posted February 22, 2018 Share #2 Posted February 22, 2018 Good question. Also which will be first, M10M or M10P? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
TG14 Posted February 22, 2018 Share #3 Posted February 22, 2018 What is the "MP" supposed to be? Like an M10 version 2? Seems unlikely that a version 2 will appear 1 year after the original.

The MP is usually the same but with no logo and no "Mx"... possibly a few other cosmetic differences. IIRC a year seems about the amount of time elapsed between the M9 - M9P, etc.

Paul J Posted February 22, 2018 Share #6 Posted February 22, 2018 (edited) It's usually 2 years after the standard model, isn't it? I hope the P for Professional model puts the Professional functionality back, i.e. tethering with a USB grip. Come on Leica don't let me down! This already sports gorilla glass. Doubt there’s room for second card slot. Maybe an even larger buffer? Or internal storage so one can shoot without a card in a pinch? jdlaing Posted February 22, 2018 Share #8 Posted February 22, 2018 No red dot. No M engraving. Sapphire Glass Buffer
james.liam Posted February 22, 2018 Author Share #9 Posted February 22, 2018 It already has no engraving, mercifully. Just that 'subtle' red dot. Thankfully, a smaller dot than the one on the M240. I have one coming soon, in black, but all you b*stards are singing odes to silver
abrewer Posted February 22, 2018 Share #10 Posted February 22, 2018 Leica's tradition is to introduce a camera as MX (e.g., M4). The next retail iteration of the camera comes out as MX-2 (e.g., M4-2). It may have more bells and whistles as you have speculated above. Finally comes the "professional" version: MX-P (e.g., M4-P). The P version usually is stripped down to just the tools a pro would use or want. Sometimes they flip the sequence, P before -2.
Jeff S Posted February 22, 2018 Share #11 Posted February 22, 2018 As noted, the M10 has no M engraving. But the year older SL is emblazoned with LEICA at the top front and seems a sooner candidate for a more discreet “P” version before an SL2. brill64 Posted February 23, 2018 Share #12 Posted February 23, 2018 it could also be a black paint version instead of anodised & with top plate engraving with a black annodised flash shoe

Sapphire glass, larger buffer, maybe internal memory is all I can think of. There is already a phone app that can download the images to an iPad or computer and operate the LV and shutter Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

android_pt Posted June 25, 2018 Share #17 Posted June 25, 2018 Hi all, Sorry for digging this post. Regarding the Leica M10 Leitzpark limited edition announced a few weeks ago (here) do you think the M10-P may be close?
M11 for me Posted June 25, 2018 Share #18 Posted June 25, 2018 Oh, yes, absolutely. Depends what "close" means :-)
mmradman Posted June 25, 2018 Share #19 Posted June 25, 2018 That aspirin of the screw (big red dot) looks awful, how about return to frameline window for M10-P?
android_pt Posted June 25, 2018 Share #20 Posted June 25, 2018 @Alex U. By close I would say 3 or 4 months, but who knows? @mmradman I don't think a frameline window will return on the M10-P. Black paint instead of black chrome would be interesting.
