Has anyone used either the Leica or other brand screen protector- if so with what results? Any recommendations?

Tried the Leica one (two) and failed miserably... bubbles and specks.

 

Not Leica's fault; rather my ham-fistedness.

 

Reckon I'll have a dealer do it.

Because I've used them for other cameras I just ordered these cheap - but do the job ones from ebay

I find all of them a pain to put on but miraculously managed first time with just the tiniest bubble in one corner that I am managing to ignore.

The ACMAXX hard(er) glass one for the Leica 601 SL is the exact size and fits perfectly. It's $23.00 and free shipping on E-Bay. I have them on all my Leica and Fuji bodies and love them.

I'm just using the screen protector which was on the camera when new. In fact the original protectors are still on both the M10 and SL.

 A couple of years ago I had to put a film on a window and 3M stock tripled in an hour.

 

Today I tried the Leica screen protector and gosh I was happy that that it worked very well and is still sticking; no bubbles too

Expert Shield has superb lcd protectors, both clear and matte. They are inexpensive ($12.95), shatterproof and guaranteed for the life of the camera. It's the only protector I'll use for all my cameras. Their customer service is what all customer service should strive to be.

Actually I need to correct my comment. The $12.95 is for what they call their "Crystal Clear Protector," which is similar to other thin plastic film protectors. They charge $19.95 for their "Glass Protector," which is actually a thin, super clear, shatterproof glass covering. Currently, they do not have one on the market for the CL, however I am beta testing one now and it is bubble free and fits perfectly. I expect it should be available soon. This is by far the best LCD cover I've come across. It's installed on my camera in this photo and you can't even see it.

 

It probably sounds like I work for the company. I don't and I have no financial interest in it.
