jmahto Posted January 31, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 31, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Today we had a unique celestial phenomenon. It was the first total lunar eclipse since 2015 and the first Blue Moon Blood Moon visible from the U.S. since 1866! https://www.space.com/39208-super-blue-blood-moon-guide.html I tried to shoot this in San Francisco (GG bridge in the foreground). The shoot went well (I guess). After a long time I guess I enjoyed watching and shooting lunar eclipse due to good scenery. The pictures are still in the camera. Most would need some processing since light range was huge. Will post the finished photos later in the week. This is my M240 with 180APO3.4 (I used 90macro elmar as well) on tripod. Eclipse is almost over and Moon is setting. Has anyone else shot the super duper blue blood moon. Welcome, dear visitor! platypus Posted January 31, 2018 Share #2 Posted January 31, 2018 Sadly we had dense cloud cover for this event, I guess there was a moon-show up there somewhere but it was not visible in this part of Oz.
gbealnz Posted January 31, 2018 Share #3 Posted January 31, 2018 Nor this side of the Tasman, I got up to see if it was visible, but the sky was clouded out, completely. Gary

stuny Posted February 1, 2018 Share #5 Posted February 1, 2018 Beautifully crisp and clear here, but at the ideal time buildings completely blocked the potential view.

jmahto Posted February 2, 2018 Author Share #7 Posted February 2, 2018 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Finally got around to processing the files. The details are below. All from San Francisco. I had used Photographer's Ephimeris software to find out suitable place to shoot moon (I wanted Golden Gate Bridge in the foreground). When I reached there, I found ten other photographers waiting at the same spot. When I arrived, the eclipse was at peak. Blood red Moon was high in the sky. I had to wait for it to come down closer to Golden Gate bridge.M240, 28Cron ASPH Welcome, dear visitor! david strachan Posted February 2, 2018 Share #8 Posted February 2, 2018 Nice ones Jayant. I like how they are caught in their scenery, rather than just close-ups. ...
