Thank you all for joining in this hot "Cuba at the Waal ".

It has been a great pleasure to organise a LUF meeting in one of my favorite cities in the Netherlands. Some impressions:

Paulus,

I meant to add thank you for showing us your rich and wonderful voice by singing the aria for us and displaying the superb acoustics in the opera house.

I can honestly say that this is the first of the many forum meets that I have attended or organised where the organiser has sung an aria to us. Bravo!!

Pete.

Paulus,

Thank you for organizing this meeting, and for showing us around the memorable town. Even though I could stay only for the morning, I enjoyed meeting up with all those fellow Leica enthusiasts. Hope to see you soon (for the Leica challenge in Lyon?).

So, are we thinking Groningen next year Cecelia? 29 June 2019?

A very nice alternative could be:

Woudrichem, Gorichem  Slot Loevestein. One can spend the night in Slot Loevestein ( about €80-90 ,- ) there's some Dutch history attached to it. )

The whole trip is connected by " ferries " so we can do everything by boat a dayticket for € 6,-

With the Sun at fullest. the Beer consumption at an all-time high, and the Waal river at an epic low,

we had a wonderful day, thanks to Paulus' expert organizing and guiding. Thanks, Paulus for all

your work and cementing this group of Leica aficionados to a group of friends. Bravo!

We are all looking out to next year. Good ideas already abound!

All the best,

Sander van Hulsenbeek

Thanks for a great meeting Paulus, we really enjoyed it and were sorry that we seem to have missed you and Simon at the end of Saturday night in order to thank you personally. We had a good journey home and managed to get a ferry two hours earlier than we had booked, although we lost the time in a traffic jam near London.

Now looking forward to the 2019 meeting.

Cheers, Tom & Eileen

Hi Tom,

I really like your ability to loose track of our whereabouts in a split second. ;) It was my fault to walk so fast in the direction of the railway station.

Although for me I really had no choice. I nearly missed my last train to the South.( I thought there would be one at 0:15 hour but there wasn't so I'm glad I could catch this one in time.  )

That it became so late, is also an indication of the fun we had, I think. See you next year hopefully!

I want to echo previous sentiments and thank Paulus for having thrown this wonderful meet-up, and the Dutch for showing us great hospitality. I was great seeing familiar faces as well as putting forum names to new faces. Look forward to seeing everyone again in 2019!

Hi to all,

I'ld like to break in and make some promo for an event in Rotterdam, set to August 18 this year.

In two weeks I'll post an overview of the ideas for a walk that I'm collecting right now.

The walk in Rotterdam will focus on the architecture - the city is famous for this and all that jazz.

The venue can also easily be reached by boat.
